  1. Richie was outstanding today. Congratulations to him and the Canadian team. They can win their pod.
  2. I question any Zip fan who is skipping a key Zip event like a golf outing for a meager excuse like his wedding. It seems Kreed has had his head turned by a subversive KSU spy masquerading as a love interest. Be very careful my friend. We would hate to lose you to the dark side. May the Zippy be with you.
  3. Thanks for this post ZIP_ME87. We are truly blessed to have young men of high character coming thru our program. Cudos to the coaches for building and perpetuating the culture of Akron soccer. It is a fact that our culture is like no other. That is repeatedly voiced by new people coming into the program.
  4. Another great interview. Remi is so well spoken. He made the interview interesting with well thought out answers. It is obvious he and his teammates believe this will be an exceptional season. I also believe them.
  5. Do not take this as gospel, but I believe the reasons for losing our top three pictures was one had a skiing accident, another had testicular cancer that has been successfully treated and the last spiked himself causing a horrific gash that necessitated sutures and rest for the remainder of the season.
  6. You are not in the extreme minority. This team is slowly rebuilding with the biggest jump at QB. 6-6 is definitely within their grasp and 7-5 is possible, but not probable. Regards the football budget, I am not worried. Goodrich and Pottorff know it is low and they are working to add to it while suffering the cuts the university has mandated to right its financial situation. Both will be resolved over time. As mentioned in another post today we are a program that competes well in most every sport. Baseball would have been a top competitor had they not lost their top three pitchers this season, all of whom will be back.
  7. This is a travesty. Nothing short of it. Not only should Nicholson and Goodrich pursue it, but Steinbrecher of the MAC needs to raise hell. Incompetence does not justify this decision. It affected the outcome of the game and that is not tolerable. I am not a conspiracy guy, but this has all the makings of one. We probably would have lost to LSU again, yet our team deserved the recognition for beating #12 Va Tech.
  8. This was a great interview. Thanks for sharing. We are lucky to have Michael on our coaching staff. he will make a good head coach some day.
  9. I'm assuming he is a preferred walk-on as we don't necessarily need help at his position. I'm hoping we are having our last three scholarships for the DL or OL. Any thoughts?
  10. Outstanding game ladies! They never gave up battling to the very end. That grand slam walk-off homer has to be one of the greatest moments in Zip softball history. Hope the stadium is filled tomorrow with rabid Zip fans.
  11. He has no shame.😱
  12. Spurred on by the posts from Zips 1991 and Sgt Zip I watched snippets of the Zip LAX team vs EMU. Elaine Jones has one exciting team. They started 5-0 against EMU. Sienna Hinchcliffe is the real deal. She can flat out score anytime she has the ball. If the ladies tighten up their D they have a real chance against a superior UMass club. I hope the fans travel to Pittsburgh to give them a boost. Go Zips!
  13. This is a fantastic home schedule. We will see some of the best collegiate soccer in the country. I am so glad we got out of the MAC and into the Big East. We need big crowds for each of these games to cement our reputation as a near impossible place for visiting teams to win.
  14. Cheers to the Buffalo and visiting Canadian fans for creating a memorable moment of friendship. Our government treats Canada like an enemy when they have been a friendly, supportive neighbor. They deserve moments like this.
