My 6 yo daughter was working on her penmanship during homeschooling today. My wife was having her write the letter "Z" and she kept making it big and wide. When asked why, my daughter said, "That's how Akron's Z looks." Her younger siblings have a lot to live up to. She's setting the bar high.

Looking at the Miami OH box score, for just the 4th time in MAC play, Miami OH didn't have a FTA advantage. Both teams shot 18 FTs. Also of note, Miami OH didn't have a bad shooting day (48% FG, 36% 3P); UMass only shot 20% from 3P and 52% from FG. Almost a carbon copy of last year's MAC title game where Miami OH shot the ball well and still lost to a team with a worse shooting performance. Is Steele the new Kowalchoke? Edit: Also, UMass outrebounded Miami OH 41-24.

So I didn't get my Miami loss on a last second bank shot. But the player who stole the ball that pretty much sealed the game is named Banks so I'll take that. 🤣

I had a tab open for Miami OH's stats. Just went to their schedule and physically watched the 31-0 change to 31-1. It was cinema.

In a few years, P4 may be separate from the rest of the NCAA and it would be irrelevant. College athletics is making decisions based upon football. I'm not sure what these teams bring to the table. Miami had one good year in a while. The rest are average at best. CBB? Take out March Madness and between getting squeezed out by the CFP and NFL playoffs, it only has about a month of regular season relavency. I now yawn when I see the Duke vs UNC game show as an upcoming event.

Toledo and BGSU deserve each other. I can't believe one of these teams is going to make the semifinal.

Just realized Toledo, UMass, or BG will be in the championship game. Wild.

BG is not good, but they're more of a problem than Toledo/UMass because they have length & can shoot. I want Toledo to win so tomorrow night is as physical as it gets.

Honestly, if I was their fan base I would view that as a positive. It would pretty much be a home game against a high quality opponent. I would love an opportunity to ser Akron play an Indiana, Texas, Missouri, etc. within an hour drive.

Can anyone honestly say Miami is better than a mid-tier Big Ten or SEC team? I can't, and money, prestige, and power are all tie breakers.

If they do, it will most likely be the play-in game in Dayton.

What's hilarious is Steele said they were right on the edge of a Q2/Q3, and most teams wanted Q2 opponents. With their loss today and probable loss in the tourney (if they get in), they'll be right on the edge of Q2/Q3 again lol.
