  1. Past hour
  2. It's about money. Miami's look by the selection committee will be VERY quick if they have one loss and particularly fast if that loss is by a few possessions or more.
  3. I stand corrected. To cover the past 6 years I should have said the Zips and Toledo are not used to this.
  4. The thing is that's subjective. I don't think anyone can really argue that Miami's résumé is at least on the bubble and deserves a look. From there it just depends on how one weighs things. That's the problem with a committee picking the teams. Everyone has their own opinion and weighs things differently. What you might feel deserves more importance @clarkwgriswold might not or vice versa.
  5. But $2 Bud Lights are.
  6. what we want is different from what "we" or "they" deserve.
  7. Jesus Wins!!
  8. Friday is not only senior night but it's Faith and Family Night. Swearing in the stands will not be permitted.
  9. Today
  10. I love how quickly the sports world forgets about the cheaters and liars
  11. Pearl is a cheater and liar. If the Zips were 33-1 with Miami resume, Id want them in the tournament.
  12. Thank you. We have a troll on here and a few continue to feed him.
  13. I remember Jim Brown back in the day saying something to the effect that Jim Boeheim had to be cheating in recruiting as there's no way the top basketball players would ever want to go to Syracuse, New York without an "incentive." I was in Syracuse 3 or 4 years ago. Other than the winter weather, it's not a bad city.
  14. Maybe. Syracuse is an awful place most of the year. Summit county is more desirable. Syracuse needs a coach who could reach into the deep recruiting pool that is NYC and get that program going.
  15. At what point do anti trust laws apply to P4 conferences? My guess is it's more likely to give them an anti trust exemption, see MLB, than not. What role would a collective bargaining agreement have in an anti trust agreement? I don't know these answers, but it seems as if we are approaching this point fast than I ever expected.
  16. He is not getting the job. He was not a finalist. The only person with an Akron connection who was in the mix was Heather Lyke. But that seems unlikely now. http://Complaint alleges Lyke contributed to ‘culture of intimidation' at SU https://share.google/Zdhpf4NGDFCpKV9vR
  17. Too bad I didn't see those odds before the game. Not sure why CSU would be +1.5 (or even -1.5) when they were at home and had twice as many conference wins as IU-Indy.
  18. Give it a few more years of the B1G spanking the SEC and then some senator from Alabama or Louisiana will make reform a priority. Just look at how involved the Louisiana Governor was in the recent coaching change. It's an easy way for them to gain favor with their constituents without having to do a whole lot.
  19. I don't know if you went over to kent for the game friday, but their emcee might be even worse than ours. Basically like a 40 year old manchild wearing a cut-off t-shirt and you couldn't even understand what he was saying. He fit in with the crowd very well
  20. Im happy they have been posting these earlier. I have nothing to watch mondays usually
  21. The answer is no
  22. I would agree with this statement most years, but the Big East is having a bad year (by their standards). Buffalo beat 5th place DePaul by 13 earlier in the season. I think this season both Akron and Miami would compete in that 5-7 range in the conference.
  23. If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle
  24. There is so much nuance to that hypothetical, though. If Akron or Miami OH were in the Big East, they'd likely have a few better recruits, more familiarity with those schools in terms of game planning, and they'd automatically get home games vs the better competition - something they don't get now. The best counterargument I've seen is posing the question if his son was one of the best 68 candidates for the job as they are currently 11th in the SEC (bottom half) at 6-10 in conference.
  25. When politicians figure out how to enrich themselves and concentrate wealth even more for their friends.
