In my wish world Miami goes undefeated until the MAC final when they get beaten by the Zips and both the Zips and Miami make the tournament. Two MAC teams in the tourney would be a nice precedent.

Like him or not, they're stuck with him until the end of his contract. The problem with not committing further to him (and I am not suggesting they should)is that it impacts recruiting. Kids want to know who's going to be their coach. I went to the game today. The Zips were competitive in he first and fourth quarters but got outscored by 17 in the second quarter. No effort seemed to be made during that run to stop the momentum by calling a timeout. Overall, they turned the ball over way too much, couldn't stop dribble penetration and gave up way too many easy shots. Gentzler did way too much yelling and gesturing, including a Rick Pitino like tearing off and throwing of his sportscoat.

Looking at the current likely MAC seedings, its not likely we'll finish in front of Miami or behind KSU so the seven seed is our likely opponent. Going to root to UMass to take over the six seed to take on KSU in round 1 to beat on each other, which would probably give us BGSU in round 1, whom we don't even rent, we own.

Buffalo doesn't play until 6 pm tonight, which gives us a full 24 hours of extra rest. Plus we're at home, so a couple extra advantages over a team we should already handle fairly easily. Especially if Freitag remains out.

I know this was a joke, but considering he's only in year 3 of a 5 year deal I imagine his job is secure. I can't imagine Akron athletics would be eager to pay a buyout for a sport that it frankly doesn't invest heavily in to start with.

There’s very few teams you can go to a home game and expect a win every time. Only other example I can think of is Ohio state football

We are 36-2 in our last 38 MAC games, something that we will probably never see again. I trust the coaches know what they are doing and can’t wait to go see another win in the JAR Tuesday!

Even if we’re supposed to hate them it’s still a very interesting storyline and potential conundrum if we beat them

Does anyone know if Freitag is coming back this season. Maybe for a 1-8 match up with Miami?
