We were Evan's 3rd school in 4 years and he was one of the best "culture" players I can remember. With more coach turnover and roster instability in today's college basketball, I wouldn't dismiss a possible addition based on the number of stops he's had.

That’s the nature of the portal. Calls from coaches aren’t always a reliable indicator of genuine interest.

I don't know how many times Akron was linked to guys last year in tweets like this and I never heard about them again.

It could just be schools gauging the market. Some of those schools he might be their option if their top 10 guys fall through. Either way, if there is that many teams him signing at Akron will probably be unlikely. Odds are some team will value him much higher than we might. I looked at his numbers against D1 competition, 2 of which were low majors. Nothing really jumps out to me that he's a must get.

I assume this is why I immediately thought he'd be a good get for us.

Seems like when you see this many teams announced, the player is just trying to create a bidding war. Akron is the only team on the list who made the tournament.
