My guess is that is not accurate for two reasons, 1) This is probably coming from a graphic that was put out last year, showing the home and away schedules over the next couple years. Pretty sure that that graphic wasn’t even accurate for last year’s schedule . 2) although you only posted three teams Sacramento State isn’t on any of them. Although I guess it’s possible that Sacramento State doesn’t play any of those teams, but I still think it’s unlikely that this is accurate. I doubt that Akron would play Toledo, Bowling Green, and Buffalo, away two years in a row.

If Tod gets out of the way his guards could cause them fits.

The AP Top 25 is such an antiquated joke. Akron is not a Top 25 team. Miami OH is not a Top 25 team. Could they be? Sure. Neither resume warrants such a label, though.

The voters of Summit County unequivocally said no 10-12 years ago. Politicians proposed a downtown arena essentially across from Canal Park. It went over in polls like a fart in church, even when they tried to attach it to a levy for a 911 upgrade, so they gave up. In today's climate no one is paying for an arena. Our best hope is an upgrade to the JAR. -
Apparently not released yet but Gemini has this to say: Known Matchups and Opponents While the full calendar is pending, the conference has previously announced the home/away pairings for the 2026 cycle under its division-less scheduling model. Team - Known 2026 Home Opponents - Known 2026 Away Opponents Western Michigan - Central Michigan, Kent State, Ohio, Toledo - Bowling Green, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH) Buffalo - Central Michigan, Bowling Green, Kent State, Ohio - Western Michigan, Toledo, Akron, Miami (OH) Ohio - Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Miami (OH) - Central Michigan, Toledo, Kent State, Western Michigan With new coaches at Toledo, BG and CMU, hopefully we could steal a 'non-continuity/rebuilding' win..

There is definitely a market for a mid size music venue in Akron imo. There's a level of musician that doesn't come to Akron but hits up places like Kemba Live in Columbus and Stage AE in Pittsburgh and drives right through Akron. Too small for Blossom, too big for EJ or Akron Civic Below is the tour schedule for Akron's own Black Keys https://theblackkeys.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoq5FvIBX6ltfsV_nnzvRIsqUaOdTHK6iukNKNvPeC9MiYxtWbmV -

No and it wouldn't benefit UA or the city of Akron. IMO, the ideal, best possible scenario is a JAR renovation. -
His RayJ Dennis-led squad was the most March-ready team he ever had and they lost to inSincere Carry's Kent clowns.
-
Anyone have a read on Briscoe? He was highly touted out of high school. He looked kind of slow in garbage time vs NIU.
-
The good news is no is coming back should command Nate or Tavari Johnson type money from the NIL budget. We should have some more cash to work with.
-
Tod and Toledo are built for March unlike his prior teams. Tod takes out Travis in semis if UMass doesnt clip them first.

A lot to unpack here. 1) What would make you think LeBron would ever fund such a thing? Almost all the charity work he has done in the area has been for the impoverished community (not criticism). This wouldn't really fit that profile. You'd have better luck getting funds through the Knight Foundation IMO. 2) Akron city tried and it was hugely unsuccessful. 3) Why would the Charge move to Akron after they just relocated from Canton to Cleveland. 4) 10k seats is way too many for Zips basketball. I think we hosted only 1 game with 3k fans, maybe 2. 5) Moving the games off campus would lead to fewer students attending. 6) Akron already has venues for concerts/plays. Between Blossom, E.J. Thomas, Akron Civic Theater I'm not really seeing the capacity to support more. -

I know a long shot but do you think we could ever get a 10k arena downtown Akron. Next to the rubber ducks a lock 3. LeBron could pay and the city could help. Then move the Cleveland charge into that arena and have the zips play there. it would be a UA, charge and concert venue. Creating a stadium district downtown. -

Hard for me to complain about the gym when the team playing there has 31 home win streak. -
I told an NIU fan a day or two ago that if NIU never planned to fund basketball they should have just kept Montgomery. They would certainly be in a better position today if they had. He at least kept them in the middle of the pack in the MAC. Not really sure NIU can expect more out of a coach unless they start taking basketball seriously.

It's also worth noting NIL dollars in basketball go much further because there are fewer players to pay and more schools are actively trying to compete in FBS compared to basketball. -
I feel like we need multiple contributors via the portal if we're gonna be close to the same level next year. We're losing so much and have so little experience coming back.

I think the contrast between how much NIL hurts our football but helps our MBB is amazing. -
Hope Mark Montgomery and Detroit win the tournament.
-
Good point. This year I'm glad we'll get our "Cleveland legs" under us vs. Buffalo as opposed to jumping right into the semi-finals vs. either Kent or Ohio.
-
Being 6'8", hopefully with a good off season of work Oggie can play a stretch-4 type role next year. That'd give us PG: Sharron(6'0") / Perkins(6'0") G: Head(6'3") / Henderson(6'5") (Henderson may start & be MAC Freshman of the Year next year - the dude is crazy good) G: Eric(6'6") / Halligan(6'5") P: Oggie(6'8") / MMK(6'6") C ??? / Barre(6'10") We need a starting ~25 mpg big for next year.
-
The other thing I'd really like to find out is how many of the other conference tourneys that have the aim of protecting their high seeds actually do the opposite. It just seems like a lot of teams that don't play the first round seem to lose in the next round. At least in the MAC tournament you kind of get a "breather" game before advancing to the next round. Unless of course you happen to be Toledo.
-
The MAC is really lucky their top teams are consistently within a few hours of Cleveland and typically have a decent alumni presence in the NEO area. The geographic footprint of other conferences is a disadvantage when it comes to conference tourneys.
-
Oh thank you. Did not realize tonight isn't their final.
