  2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_East_Conference_men's_soccer_tournament The conference has split into East and Midwest divisions for scheduling purposes, although it will maintain a single league table. Seeding for the tournament is based on regular season conference records. The team with the best overall conference record will earn the top seed; the second seed will be the team from the opposite division with the best conference record. All remaining seeds will be based on the overall conference table. With the expansion to an eight-team bracket, byes have been eliminated; instead, the top four seeds will host quarterfinal matches, with the survivors advancing to a predetermined site for the semifinals and final.[1] The winner, declared conference champion, receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I men's soccer championship.
  3. Thanks for confirming! Last year, the two division winners were #1 and #2 automatically and then the remaining were seeded regardless of division. I would think it would be that way again but don't know.

  5. I hope we don't see that crap-show of a referee, Nickrod Fateh, again. One of the most inconsistent refs I can recall. Wonder how much he received to homer us at home? Fouls Akron 16 St. John's 9
  6. Friday October 3rd Night games #14 Georgetown traveled to Seton Hall....and the 2 teams play to 0-0 tie. Ohio State's poor Season continued....They hosted Wisconsin tonight. The Badgers won 1-0 UConn defended their home turf with a 3-0 beatdown of Creighton Xavier traveled to Marquette and Xavier left with a 1-0 win as of 10:30 tonight, Akron dropped from 17 in RPI.....down to 27 in RPI Current Big East Standings Midwest Creighton 2-1-0 Xavier 1-1-1 Akron and Butler are both 1-2-0 DePaul 0-2-1 Marquette 0-3-0 East Georgetown and Seton Hall are both 2-0-1 Providence and UConn are both 2-1-0 Villanova and St. John's are both 1-1-1 @Zips1991 asked earlier about the Big East tournament being a 4 team field. I answered that question earlier in the day. My question for others on the board. For the 4 team Big East tournament, will they take the top 2 teams from the East and the top 2 teams from the Midwest? Or will they take the 4 teams with the highest point totals? Right now, the highest point totals have 4 teams from the East in the top 5 1. Seton Hall and Georgetown 7 points tie for 3rd. Creighton, UConn and Providence 6 points
  7. Congratulations to Jason Shokalook. Jason currently has 18 goals and is the current favorite to win the Golden Boot in MLS Next Pro https://www.mlsnextpro.com/news/the-contenders-who-will-win-2025-golden-boot-playmaker-of-the-year
  8. I think TJ, Scott and Young all start. Lyles definitely starts. Evan Mahaffey would be my other guess.
  9. The offense is terrible…..effort can only get you so far. Going from Emil to Ferguson is a steep drop off…..
  10. He sucks. I can’t stand watching him every time he plays lol
  11. Can someone tell me why Ferguson is playing at all? Yes I know he scored but anyone could have scored that goal. Every time he touches the ball = turnover.
  12. I feel like I’m at a Jimmy Buffet concert…..”Into the mixer.”
  13. I see big value in Shammah being the 6th man but I think he put the blood sweat and tears for this program to not start his senior year. Then I could see both Mahaffey bother’s start with Amani Lyles and Johnson.
  14. Is Finely playing? After watching last week, I just cannot see us moving the ball without him.
  15. It will be interesting to see if anyone makes a dramatic leap like Amani and Tavari did last year. I always thought Tavari had talent but I was in the minority on this board and took a lot of grief from people on this board until last year. However, I was unhappy that Amani stayed with the team last year since I just did not see the talent. Could not be happier to be dead wrong. Nobody can ever predict who will improve from one year to the next.
  16. Jack Roman has to be on the National list for the 5 most improved players in college soccer. Tremendous work by Jack Roman......to create that goal. The work rate of Jack Roman is phenomenal.
  17. Halftime. 1-0 Akron on 38" goal by Nathan Ferguson. Assists to Pedro and Roman.

  21. I wouldn't touch that line with a 10 foot pole. CMU is more than capable of letting the Zips think they're competent.
  22. If the stars align, I believe both Akron and Miami have teams capable of meeting/eclipsing the 2002 run by Kent State. That's how bullish I am on this BB season. Injuries have to be avoided, inevitable 'bad' games have to be overcome and so forth. But based on roster talent and returning experience both teams are loaded. Even a poor start out of the gate - remember Kent was 4-4 before they figured it out - can be overcome by either team. The sad part is, 2002 was the year the NCAA pimped the MAC, big time, and hasn't looked back. Bowling Green, had at least one power conference win and I believe, lost just nine games, and 3 of those were to Kent. Ball State that year had a huge non-conference with at least two and maybe 3 P5 wins. Marshall was loaded as well. It's assumed Kent would not have been an at-large w/o winning the 2002 MAC Tournament. That will likely be the case for Akron and/or Miami. Sad.
  23. Exactly. That's why I started it, to whip up some preseason conversation. I've also heard Eric was really good in last year's preseason.
