They do only count conference games, but solely because Ohio and Toledo did not play other, they didn't count those games. I like the "mini conference" concept where their records against each other count as the first criteria whether they all played each other or not.

Milwaukee is a 200+ KenPom team, sure, but Akron is demolishing DI teams like P4s do. This is such an impressive start to the season.

If the MAC wanted to add some sanity to this, they would use overall wins, but only one win for FCS. We would find out then if schools are trying to win championships or using their football program as a fundraising tool. They could probably eliminate some confusion by making the MAC season 9 games.

Watching Barre, I have a feeling that the fact we haven’t seen much of him might have to do with Groce wanting to get the Zips playing well without him first. Kind of a layered approach to the season instead of having too many moving parts all at once on game one.

Miami finished the season tied with only Ohio and Toledo, lost to both but still made the MAC Championship game? I understand they beat Western Michigan and neither Ohio nor Toledo did, but man I think they need to relook at the tie criteria when you have two head to head losses with the teams you're tied with and still advance.
