Is there anyone that really wants to trade experiencing a Zips 3-day ride through The Q...the bars, the environment, the excitement, the program exposure...does anyone want to fast-forward through all of that...just so they can watch the Zips lose in round #1 of the NCAA tourney? If we simply got a round #1 berth in the tourney for winning the MAC, how many awesome, memorable moments would you have been cheated from experiencing? Our days at The Q under Dambrot have been some of the absolute best experiences I've had as a Zips fan. Even the championship games we've lost have been exhilarating. The Ivy Leaugers may be able to work a protractor, but their 1965 approach to modern-day college basketball is cheating their fans. The MAC Tournament rules.5 points

Gotta go with Dambrot. Everyone tells me how much the MAC has improved this season, and the Zips are the class of the league. Make up a "Most Improved Program" award for Whitford, but give Dambrot "Coach of the Year."2 points

The tournament is fun. They should just do away with divisions in the MAC.1 point

Oh here we go. Someone mentioned OSU, big mistake. As for the Zips, RPI isn't a huge factor anymore, but it's still something. 16th would probably help our cause and it definitely wouldn't hurt it.1 point

It's misleading that they call it an app. It's a mobile site - www.akronstats.com1 point

For all but maybe 1 year (2012-13), Dambrot's teams have always had "live by the 3, die by the 3" built into their gameplans, typically resulting in the latter. But this team is different. - The guards on this team are quick and athletic. Very multi-dimensional with very few holes. Noah has taken a step back this year it seems (sophomore slump maybe), but is still a great guard. Antino is quick, slick, and a pain in the (play on words off the old AK-Rowdies Steve Swiech chant) for opposing teams; plays with A LOT of energy. Josh has a quiet swagger about him and I like it. Very smooth and can really knock down the 3 ball. - The team is full of shooters, so if one or two have bad nights, one or two others can pick up the slack. - Big Dog has incredible court vision for a big man. He can really spread the ball around once it enters the paint; in the past, the paint has been somewhat of a black hole, with the ball never coming back out once it enters. - Kwan and Reggie can really spread the floor. Both are tall and athletic enough to create mismatches while also opening up shot opportunities. - Most importantly, from what I've noticed, the ball movement this year is the best I've ever seen under a Dambrot team. There have been times during games where I'm just in awe of the passes being made. Teams like this Akron team, who can get hot and make 20 threes a game, are the teams that make some noise come Big Dance time. Beat Can't, win the MAC Tourney, and get the opportunity to make said noise. Go Zips!1 point

That Noon game is stupid. Your biggest crowd is from Akron. Had to think they would have the #1 seed. Have to think they could still change that. I can get there for the game but what kind of crowd will you get.1 point

Ball State lost, so is eliminated. The only team left that can challenge is OU. That should end in 51.4 seconds1 point

It has been made clear how Akron intends to schedule its OOC schedule. 1 - home guaranteed game vs. FCS 1 - guaranteed game on road vs. P5 team 2 - games vs. other FBS opponents. Both typically home and homes. 1 at home and the other on the road. Since Infocision has opened, the Zips have hosted Indiana, Syracuse, Marshall, and Pitt. Why would we give Illinois a 2 for 1 when we haven't had problems getting similar caliber programs to agree to a 1-1 format?1 point

I'm not sure where you are getting at with this. I'm not saying Akron has been better over the last 25 years. Just that Illinois along with perhaps Purdue and Indiana have been the cellar dwellers of the Big 10. I'm not saying the Zips will win. In fact, I'll say more than likely we will lose. However, if Akron was to beat a B1G team it will most likely be a program of Illinois caliber, not a OSU or MSU.1 point

Easy there, 2019 is still a few years away. Don't make assumptions yet. I do like this though. 1.1M to play an unfamiliar opponent that is geographically friendly.1 point

http://www.gozips.com/general/2015-16/Releases/2015_Dean-s_List.pdf?preview=true Congratulations to some true student athletes. The list above.....shows the soccer zips that made the deans list for spring 2015 and fall 2015 listed as making the deans list (above 3.50) are Robbie Dambrot, Dener Dos Santos, Jake Fenlason, Ezana Kahsay, Nate Shultz, Andrew Souders, Victor Souto and Shane Wiedt. 3 zips have an asterisk by their name...indicating a 4.0 GPA....Tyler Sanda, Danilo Radjen and Adam Najem. Great job by all of these young men. They will be honored at halftime of the basketball game against Can't State.1 point
