Wild finish - for those that didn't get to see it here's how the final few seconds played out: Zips had the ball up by one but too much time to run out the clock, Kwan attempted a three and missed Ivey tried to grab the rebound and it was knocked out of his hands by Ball State out of bounds. Zips got the ball back with 19 seconds to go but a poor inbounds pass gave it back to Ball State (Ball State was probably the last to touch the ball before it went out of bounds but were definitely fouled anyway). Ball state scored on a layup with about 7 seconds to go up by 1 and the Zips raced down the floor and Antino found Big Dog open under the basket with 2.3 left where he was fouled, where he missed the first and made the second (whew) to tie it. Ball State tried a full court pass but threw it out of bounds at the other end (Robotham could have grabbed it but smartly let it go since that meant the Zips would inbound under their own basket with the same 2.3 seconds left). Inbounds to Big Dog who made a jumper from about 17 feet with 0.2 left. Ball State threw it full court hitting the backboard but their coach was trying to argue a goaltend which is wasn't and couldn't have been since you can't shoot from out of bounds. Besides the fact the Zips never touched it. Zips Win a wild one!5 points

I've always found these videos pretty fun, so I thought I would share it.3 points

I think the answer is still Keene. We've seen one dimensional players each year, but none of them routinely drop 30+. He's good3 points

I couldn't make the game last night because of the 6 P.M. start, so I watched from my recliner with the game on a tablet with headphones while my wife watched The Bachelor or some other dumb show. When Big Dog made that shot, I jumped out of my chair (which by this time had been de-reclined and I was sitting on the edge of) and gave a fist pump and yelled "Y-Y-Y-Y-E-E-E-E-E-S-S-S-S-S-S!!!!!!!" My wife wasn't nearly as happy as I was. That's why you have to make it to the game. I have been kicking myself in the ass all day today because if I had left right after work, I could have made it just in time for tip-off, but I was being lazy and just went home. Go Zips.2 points

I'm right there close enough to see and hear the whole thing. They stepped into the lane after the miss and really started talking some sh^t and clapping and laughing. I was like, "Oh No". But obviously it didn't bother him. I don't know too many kids who could have all of the scenarios/rules in their mind, and make a play like Noah did. Your first instinct would clearly be to grab the ball and end the game. Unbelievable. I guess that's why Keith calls him the brains of the team.2 points

It looked like the streak was over Big Dog needing to hit the 2nd FT just to tie the game or they lose instead Ball State with the a big choke pass out of bounds sets up the game winning shot. Just wish I could seen it instead of just listening to the radio. 29 straight!2 points

Of all the Zips, I think he's the most physically built for a Big 10 schedule. The play he got injured @ Wisconsin wasn't anything that couldn't have happened in any other game. If we want to try and win the game, we play him. I hope we do. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.1 point

This is actually a really good thing to keep in mind. If this game had gone as I had hoped, I would have left about a minute before the end, been in bed by 10pm, and it would have been just another night, and this would have been just another day. Instead, I left the arena in a sweat, I couldn't fall asleep until 1am, I'm tired as hell today, and I'm loving every minute of it, and reliving it in my head over and over (especially with all of the videos). If we want to attract new people to Akron basketball, it's the images of such a fun atmosphere like this that will turn them towards the JAR on game nights. Not the fact that they read that we beat some average MAC team by 20 when they pick up the paper in the morning. Everyone.....Do all that WE can do and keep passing/posting those video clips to your friends. It's the least we can do.1 point

I think that the USL team in cincy had avg. attendance of over 17,000 a game last year and had 30,000 for a playoff game. They really have built a fan base in that area.1 point

I'd like to see Dog's stats of he got 21 shots a game like Keene, rather than 10.1 point

Portage County Community College and Ball State both make ESPN for their generous gifts last night! I sure wish someone on the coaching staff with the Zips would take a little time to work out some regular inbounds plays. That last one worked out pretty well, but I can't remember the last time we actually ran one that looked like an organized effort to set up a good shot.1 point

It's easy to sell success. I'd happily attend some matches there if it wasn't so far away. I might have to consider a Cincinnati/Dayton weekend where I go to an FC Cincy match and the Museum of the Air Force at Wright Patterson AFB. I enjoyed the Zips Spring match at FC Cincy, including some great bars very near the stadium. It seems like it would be an excellent experience/atmosphere. Add in that both Aodhan Quinn and Eric Stevenson are with FC Cincy this season...would definitely be enjoyable.1 point

They are tied for second. If CMU is not relevant in the MAC this year, then I don't know who is outside of Akron.1 point

I don't think you can consider a .500 team in league play "relevant". Maybe you can make the point that this isn't a "best player on best team" award, and that it should simply go to the best player. But, we're talking about a guy who chucks up the ball all night on an average team. We have a great team that would not be great without Big Dog.1 point

I posted a video of Big Dog's shot. That's all I found. Ball State threw the ball out of bounds trying to do a full court pass. That's how Akron got it back.1 point

I'd like to extend a personal welcome to the Zips defense. Better late than never old friend. On the other hand, we need an amber alert for the offense.1 point

Antino and Jimond both attacking the rim early. I've even seen a drive or two by Josh. Our offense is pretty darn good when that happens. Just need to do it consistently.1 point

My favorite quote from Dre Williams in that article: "So now every single school we're playing against when I'm at Akron, I'm taking it as, 'You guys passed me up, so I'm playing with a chip on my shoulder, every game, as big as a house.' "1 point

I am watching the Superbowl at Fidel Murphy's, an Irish bar on West bay road on Cayman Island. The Falcons are leading the Pats 21-3 at half and all I can think of is that the Zips need to have a hell of a Fall season, which I think they can do. TB's class this year is good but not great. He is far more shrewd than we give him credit. I believe he knows the chips are down and he is under-promising and over-delivering this fall. We could have a dynamic team that is improved on both O and D. My biggest concern is that he is committed to Milwee as his OC. I think Milwee is not capable of delivering what we need. History supports my feelings but that is TB's decision not mine and I support TB. I support TB and believe he is the best Akron can do. We are not he best progrum in the MAC. We are the best potential progrum in the MAC, but all on this site know that. I can't wait for the fall and hope the Zips will be kicking some serious ass. Keep the faith ZNO. Now back to another Caybrew Ironshore Bock. The best beer on Grand Cayman. Go Zips!1 point
