I almost want to see Kato the rest of the season. Enough of Woodson's bad attitude.4 points

I’m tired of excuses. The man said he was gonna do some winnin’ and when he said winnin’ he meant WINNIN’! I’ve been waitin’ and when I say waitin’ I mean WAITIN’! Whoever wants to be a guy who just fell off the turnip wagon and think that Bowden is the answer, be my guest. I don’t care if we beat Ohio and Kent by 50. I still want him gone because he is never going to get us to where I want to be. I want to be a winner not some loser who accepts mediocrity.3 points

Last nights loss really hurts because, I feel we would have won if Woodson played. I also think we needed the positive momentum going into the OU game. Additionally, I was excited to see if Sands could provide a spark to our running game. It all unraveled so quickly. Nevertheless, just win the next 2 and all is well.2 points

I, for one, am jealous of Miami's offense. They could pick up between 6 and 15 yards on our defense at will. It was nothing fancy either, some slants, a little motion in the back field, some misdirection. Meanwhile, our backs try the good ol' fashioned vanilla between-the-tackles for 1/2 yard. An incomplete pass later, we were constantly staring at 3rd and 7-8-9. I just miss the Frye/Getsy days where it seemed our offense had a few drops of creativity.2 points

I have no idea what happened to Woodson on the off weekend, but I'm guessing this type of lack of discipline is why he was not voted as a team Captain by the players. Not sure why O'Leary wasn't kicking. The TV crew (if that's what you'd want to call them) said he missed some kicks so Bowden pulled him or something, but wasn't this kid on the all MAC preseason list with a 48 yarder to his credit this year? I'm pretty sure he would have made the kick that Gasser blew wide. Terrible game to watch with the announcement about Woodson at the start and Sands going down on his second carry. I think we could have all turned the TV off with 5 minutes into the 1st quarter and saved some grief. I didn't listed to the radio, but I'm sure French was disgusted. He always reminded me of Oliver Hardy when things go bad for the Zips.2 points

Somewhere Alex Abreu, Quincy Diggs, Tree Treadwell and Chris Jaquemain are tipping their caps to Thomas Woodson for his discretion. Tradition never graduates. Go Zips.2 points

Woodson out Sands and Council out early. Who really thought we were going to win at this point? Kato is OK but Ramart is going to give him serious competition. Our receivers were underwhelming tonight, except for Smith and Chapman's TD catch. K. Brown did a nice job tonight. He got beat a couple of times but he beat them more often. Featherstone has stepped up his game and is making an impact. Nice job at the end of the game by Trevor Brown in running interference between Nelson and Miami defender to keep Nelson from picking up a penalty.2 points

Rodat Nelson " Our best back went down they both are from the same town !! Sands and Kato in the backfield ??♂️? , our WR need to stop watching the show and get open it's that simple I'm not a daddy ball dude I speak the real I trained my son he's past first I made him that way his head stays up he reads the defense and takes what's given his mechanics are the best in #CFB hell even some #NFL QBs our OC needs to open his mind and playbook this kid can do #ANYTHING WITH THAT ?Defense or Offense he's a Winner #GodsGotHisFeet? !!! We will soon see I'm sending #Help (.) he needs some WRs that wanna go to the next level ??♂️ but as far as QB give him protection he'll pick the #1 NFL team apart the #MAC is super slow fresh off a knee surgery I say we win more than the #MAC next year we build A defense Get some more skills to compete we Got ourselves some #Ring this ? ain't new to my son it's called ? it don't change we do .... and we did #Win if he starts next week and has all the time to get that #Chemistry so we can catch some damn balls ??♂️ 2 drop TDs and a missed FG #Mistakes that can be fixed so to me we didn't get the #Victory but we definitely #Won because now the world knows who's on the #Bench ?"1 point

Some thoughts: 1. Does the coaching staff have any idea what Kato's skill set is? It appeared to me, a person who does not make a living coaching football, that a good strategy last night might have been quick slants over the middle coupled with a hurry up tempo. Dunno. It's been well established that Milkweed is an offensive guru so who am I to judge his gameplan? 2. Warren Ball has not played since the first half of the BG game and he is still the leading rusher. Ray Charles can see the lack of a run game is a major roadblock to our success. 3. What happened to Ulysees? He is not making much of an impact as of late. Is he healthy? 4. Miami had a good enough gameplan last night and executed well enough to win despite a total stiff at QB. I have not seen a QB this year make as many awful throws as he did last night. Wowsers. 5. Overall, it was an excruciating game to watch. I guess BG @ Buffalo was the same type of deal. I was texting back & forth with my BG alum uncle during the game last night and he said "nothing like bad football on a Tuesday night. WIN-WIN." 6. What are the chances we show up for Ohio? 7. What are the chances we've seen the last of Woodson? Have a wonderful day!1 point

I don't even know where to begin with all the garbage from last night. I guess first I'd like to know why Woodson was suspended. It better have been for a damn good reason and it better have come from Bowden and not Milwee. We can't afford to lose winnable games over something stupid. Second, can our OL please block? The majority of the time it seemed like the the defense was in our backfield in 1.5-2.0 seconds. Reminded me of when my son played pee-wee football. Third...can we please catch a break sometime with our RB's? I was excited to see Sands start and him getting injured on his first play was awful. Now our best two RB's are probably gone for the season and the other two can't or won't step up. Fourth, can we please wrap and tackle? I saw so many missed tackles that I was about to break my television. I feel like, if it comes down to us beating a horrible Kent team just to be Bowl Eligible, the powers that be will overlook us anyway. Okay, I'm done for now because I'm getting very frustrated.1 point

We just found out he was suspended at 7 last night, you think someone is going to report on next week already?1 point

This pretty much sums it up for me. Looking like 6-6 and that's an apathetic 'meh ...' for me this far into Bowden's tenure. I was hoping for and expecting more than another bowl of potatoes.1 point

Interesting. I didn't think people would be so excited about the Book. Maybe they should have told people ahead of time that the tickets would be in a book. Maybe they would have sold more tickets, or gotten people to renew faster.1 point

Like I said during the game thread, this team is just painful to watch. I am not sure exactly what it is. On defense you know they are slow and rarely will get the guy attempting to turn the corner going wide. You also know the opposing QB will have plenty of time to throw the ball. On the rare times that they actually have a guy bottled up, you know they will miss the tackle. On offense we have no game breaker. There is not one guy on this team that you keep hoping gets the ball in their hands because they have the ability to score every time they touch the ball. The offense is boring, not creative and lacks a single playmaker. It's a combination of things with this team. Hell, even if we are close and have a shot at a chip shot winning FG at the end of a game, there is no confidence it will be made. I watch because I am a lifelong Akron fan and an alum. But if I was just a college football fan that watched whenever football was on, there is no way I could watch more than 1/4 of an Akron game. It is just bad, poorly coached football. It often looks as if the team is even bored while playing. Very little enthusiasm shown by the team.1 point

I was saying that 94 must have been tipped off about Woodson. If you're anticipating a 4-month barf fest, why don't you just compose your 14th farewell post and leave for a while?1 point

1) I would have at least liked to have seen what the offense could have done if Kato would have saved us from the big yardage losses by throwing the ball away. 2) The long ball threat just isn't there without Tommy on the field. And this offense badly needs the chances at big plays. 3) But Miami still won this game because we can't tackle. With 400+ yards and over 5 yards per carry on the ground. 4) We got 2 int's. I guess our luck just ran out on getting enough breaks to win another conference game. Maybe the Football Gods already gave us our allotment for this year. 5) But for God's sake, OU is not an unwinnable game. We lost to those guys by 3 last year on the road with a very patched-together team. It's the damn MAC East, people.1 point

There is definitely a lot of potential there. Sucks that he got thrown to the wolves tonight due to the actions of an immature senior1 point

Yea, how dare we want to see our team play in a bowl game I'm sure it just means nothing for recruiting purposes and has no benefit. Sorry, but this is just a dumb comment.1 point

I dunno man. They've won us a few games this year already. Sure they're giving up bigger chunks on 1st down than is ideal but they're scrappy.1 point

If you try to run outside you’ll never get there. Run inside you’ll get outside. Or something like that. Milkweed is too young to remember Bettis.1 point

Late to the party guys, so just catching up. I think it's a hell of a statement for one of your senior "leaders" to get suspended in the middle of the "stretch drive." Sure makes you wonder about his dedication to the team.1 point

I'm just hoping the team knew about this and prepared with Kato getting 1st team reps as opposed to something happening today and being unprepared. With our media situation, or lack thereof, it's possible that Woodson has been suspended for all 10 days of this break.1 point

I think the ESPN3 broadcasts may also hurt attendance. Video is better than ever and casual fans sit at home where they can eat/drink and not have to come in person. Also, I’m not sure anyone currently connects with the students the way Caleb Porter did. Opponents may have found him arrogant, brash, cocky, but I think our fans loved his attitude and confidence. I admit besides winning the national championship, one of the greatest moments in Zips Mens Soccer history was when the 4th official rolled up his flag and went home in the elite 8 match vs Cal due to Caleb. You just can’t get that kind of excitement watching at home.1 point
