you beat me to it.... I was just getting ready to post that Joao was clearly a super freshman I think that Daniel Strachan is very underrated by the coaches....Daniel had a really great year2 points

One game at a time.. Just figure out a way to beat a team that most think is better than you... Be unconventional... Just win baby!! I think these men have a little something in the tank and I hope they can overcome all the adversity and get the W on Tuesday night. I'll be there to cheer them on so I'll see you all there.2 points

We may get blown away, we may not, I know you have all heard that’s why you play the game, you never know on any given night, like it or not we are playing for the MAC East Championship i challenge one person on here who roots for the Zips, bad mouths the Zips or anywhere in between tell me if @Dr Z put a poll up on here at the beginning of year if we was playing for the MAC East against OU who would be there i bet all, cause no one thought that would be the case, so let’s go & support them, they work all year long (in season & out) for this chance & let’s rally behind them if they lay an egg, let’s all get on here & express our displeasure but let’s support them first GO ZIPS2 points

I don't either and I'm certainly not trying to rain on your parade. I got some excitement going after the Buffalo win and was looking forward to maybe <<<finally>>> breaking through to win the East. The Miami game was a big kick right square to the nutsack and brought me right back to reality real quick. I don't know much, but I do know that Ohio is a lot better team than Miami. I think our chances for winning are slim to none and slim just left town, but I will be there and I will be rooting for the miracle. I just don't see it happening.2 points

I hope what looks inevitable doesn't happen. But..... I still go back to the stretch of seasons 2003-2005. Those teams were 7-5(Owens), 6-5(Brookhart), 7-6(Brookhart,MAC Champs and Motor City Bowl). Akron got screwed out of other bowls because there weren't as many available. Surely at least one of those teams with Frye should have gotten a bid.2 points

I an hoping for a win, but I predict a blowout for OU. The sad part is that if UA beats KSU and makes a bowl game, the Bowden lovers will fall for the smoke and mirrors. It's like being a 500 team in the NBA. You aren't good enough to win anything, but not bad enough to get a lottery pick.2 points

I'll always support the Zips. Always. I don't doubt this is the biggest game we've had in a few years, as it pertains to contention for an East championship. This year hasn't been fun for me. It's great that we won a few that were surprises instead of the other way around. It gets tiring watching games expecting to lose, even if they come out to be a win. I have no doubt these guys play hard, and I love that. These guys love each other and there's no give up, and as an alum, that's fantastic to see. It makes me proud. We've all seen some Zips teams that were not that way (I've been watching close to two decades now). But since Toledo smoked us by 27 and then OU smoked them by 28, the transitive properties indicate I should stay home and watch on the couch. I'll see everyone the following week for K-ent.1 point

Lose to OU, beat Kent. I'll buy the t-shirt for the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl.1 point

What about Virginia Tech? I could see the Zips hosting the winner of Wisconsin/Virginia Tech in the second round.1 point

Skip, Here's the deal. Akron has looked lackluster this season at best. The offense has sputtered at best. The defense has been opportunistic and gotten themselves out of jams at best. Tell me one instance where the Zips looked even remotely sharp this year. I know you are going all Jesse Jackson on us and wanting us to keep hope alive, but keep hope alive based on what? Do you enjoy disappointment? Seriously. I am asking seriously. I want the Zips to win so bad I can taste it. I eff'n hate Ohio. I work with a dickhead Ohio grad who puts me through a week or two of Ohio fan douchebag Hell every time we lose to those sons of dogs. But thrilled to be in the position? Not even close, Skip. How do you do it?1 point

I went to bed last night a little bit after I saw OU kick a field goal right before halftime to take a 10-7 lead at home. I was worried then. I woke up and saw the final score and right then made the decision to stay home next Tuesday and watch on TV. I hope I'm wrong, but this game has all the makings of a P5 money game pounding, except at home against a conference rival. If it was a Saturday game, I'd still probably be there. Having to wake up at 5:30 for work on Wednesday makes this a watch-at-home. OU 52, Zips 13.1 point

Any time I'm around my father and Michigan State is on, he tells me to this day "I'll never root Michigan State for any reason again".1 point

UCLA should not be on your list....they can not make the NCAA tournament due to being sub .500 they are 7-9-1 and only have one game left1 point

I agree, but I don't think plan B can be that drastic of a change from the original game plan, or else the entire offense has to know two distinctly different plans and practice both, and that's not practical. Just my thoughts.1 point

So, what if Campbell spends 15 years in Ames and competes for the Big 12 Championship in most years and wins at least 5 conference championships (for a school that has never won even one). Would he still need a stepping stone of another institution?1 point

Lepear leading team in scoring, He doesn't start but leading team in scoring, shooting a great percentage from the field but hasn't made a 3 thru 3 games. FT % looks like he would fit in with years past Hoping it goes up with a larger sample size.1 point

I suspect he had enough prep time and what we saw last night was him trying to do too much. We have seen what his dad is like. There is probably tremendous pressure on him to be an all-star.1 point

Yes. I said it before we even played last night. And the outcome hasn't changed that situation. If you meant that to be funny, I don't know why that's amusing. How many times since 1992 have we entered a game on Nov. 14th with the MAC title right in front of us, and needing help from nobody else to win it? We've hoped for this moment for years. Enjoy.1 point

We've somehow got to get ACME involved with this, don't we? This could be be a great marketing ploy.1 point

I gotta say I can't think of a better nickname than "Groceries" for this team considering how many players he had to go out and shop for to fill this roster. Start making the signs!1 point

And to be honest, I haven’t said anything positive or negative about coaching period as sideline coaching is easy after the fact & having coached I just try to avoid it but I don’t think Milwee helped him out any just my opinion, keep it simple for him, slants, bubbles, screens, than roll the pocket with a couple levels of passes in front of him so it’s simple you see both the short & deep option & since your rolling you can also tuck the ball & run1 point
-
Point is he probably lost 50 yards scrambling around, takes off of his usual yardage of the true run plays, reason is, he isn’t ready yet, he holds on to ball way to long, doesn’t get through progressions well & try’s to make something out of nothing & it probably worked in High School but there are fast athletes everywhere at the next level & it usually didn’t work out1 point

I hate to say it, but I do not want to witness 3 more years of this type of garbage. I hope Alex Ramart blows everyone away in spring ball.1 point

Well, I'm surprised that MAC champs Toledo kind of lucked out and does not play a seeded team in the first round. They play 13-5-2 Wisconsin, who I think lost in the first round of the BiG Tournament. Go Rockets! Do it for the MAC! Like I said during the game thread, this team is just painful to watch. I am not sure exactly what it is. On defense you know they are slow and rarely will get the guy attempting to turn the corner going wide. You also know the opposing QB will have plenty of time to throw the ball. On the rare times that they actually have a guy bottled up, you know they will miss the tackle. On offense we have no game breaker. There is not one guy on this team that you keep hoping gets the ball in their hands because they have the ability to score every time they touch the ball. The offense is boring, not creative and lacks a single playmaker. It's a combination of things with this team. Hell, even if we are close and have a shot at a chip shot winning FG at the end of a game, there is no confidence it will be made. I watch because I am a lifelong Akron fan and an alum. But if I was just a college football fan that watched whenever football was on, there is no way I could watch more than 1/4 of an Akron game. It is just bad, poorly coached football. It often looks as if the team is even bored while playing. Very little enthusiasm shown by the team.1 point

Hell if NCAA Soccer followed NCAA Football, that UVU match would be completely forgotten. It was the first game of the season. Look how they treat early season blOSU losses in grid iron football.1 point

I almost want to see Kato the rest of the season. Enough of Woodson's bad attitude.1 point

Woodson continues to prove why your senior returning starting QB is not a captain. We will never know what he did, but with Bowden it must have been serious to suspend him.1 point
