This should be Marshall's starting line up: PG Andrew Taylor SG Taevion Kinsey SG Kamdyn Curfman PF/C Micah Handlogten PF Obinna Anochilli-Killen Through 6 games both Taylor and Kinsey are avging over 20 points a game. Kurfman is a transfer from VMI and had 116 3 pointers last season, 2nd most in the NCAA. Handlogten is the smoothest freshman Ive seen since Jon Elmore and the smoothest big man Ive seen since JR Vanhoose (1998-02) in a Marshall uniform. OAK is starting to come into his own now. Off the bench: G/F Jacob Connor SF Wyatt Fricks G/F Aymeric Toussaint SG David Early G/F Marko Sarenac SG Kyle Braun PF/C Goran Miladinovic Marshall only went 8 deep against Morehead State. The only player you will not see is PF Chase McKey who had knee surgery right before the start of the season and will miss the 22-23 season. The future of the team will center around two true freshman in Micah Handlogten and Jacob Conner and Redshirt freshman Wyatt Fricks. Fricks was hurt in the 2nd game last year and didn't play anymore. I really don't understand how Handlogten was so over looked, his only other DI offers was Youngstown State, American, Jacksonville and Presbyterian. Marshall is avging 86.5 points per game through 6 games, the lowest out put has been 82. And is allowing 68.8 points per game. Here is hoping for a good injury free game.2 points

Irons, Whigan, and Shocky make 3rd team. Bubba and Adams 1st team. George seems like a snub, but unsure what stats look like.2 points

A few takeaways: - Sounds like the OL is now settled into a rotation of Landers at LT, Whigan at RG, Williams at RT. Georges, Robarge, and Kilbane splitting time at LG and C. JoeMo said Georges, Robarge, and Kilbane came in as walk-ons but did not say if they are all currently on scholarship. He didn’t mention it but Chambers has also seen some time at LT, giving Landers a break for a series or two. - Hawkins saw time in the heavy D packages at NT and held his ground. - Corey Thomas is now officially a DB, playing mostly Nickel but considered a Safety. - Terry has played his best football the past two games. - I don’t remember his exact verbiage, but he said something along the lines of Kellom probably has a little more shiftiness and burst to him than Wiley and Price, but needs to add on more weight. - JoeMo was happy with the rotation at Linebacker, but don’t have the bodies for the same kind of rotation along the defensive line or secondary. (My words here and not his) Its concerning that some of the young guys like Fann and Lawson still haven’t developed enough to give us anything. - Looking forward to the matchup with Buffalo.2 points

My guess (and it is speculation) is that the MAC wants to get the game over with ASAP in the event that Buffalo wins and becomes bowl eligible. Bowl games participants have started to be named, and the MAC wants to ensure that Buffalo is not left behind if they become bowl eligible. I believe that the MAC has affiliations with 6 bowls, and as of now, there are only 5 bowl eligible teams in the MAC. A Buffalo win will get the number to 6. catdaddyp please comment if I am off base.2 points

BG lost to some school named “Queen” tonight. Does not appear BG will be 2023 MAC champions, my friends. They don’t even seem to be fighting, to the end.2 points

Just looking for thoughts on the recent announcement of a Sun Belt-MAC home and away annual basketball challenge. https://crescentcitysports.com/sun-belt-mid-american-conferences-introduce-mac-sbc-challenge/ Does anyone know if this takes the place of the algorithmic national scheduling proposal that was being discussed in the 22-23 thread? I like the idea of a MAC-SBC challenge but would have preferred a nationwide home and away opponent by algorithm. Anyone heard anything more about the national plan? Speaking of future schedules, prior to the Caymans tournament I heard Coach Groce day next year’s schedule is shaping up to be even tougher than this year’s. That got me thinking could the Zips be headed to the Bahamas next year? Seems like that would be a great trip for the team given one of the players plays for the Bahamian National Team.1 point

Oh, I don't disagree those players deserved it. I can see how my comment may have came a crossed as me saying otherwise. I'm just more surprised the voters didn't hold it against us.1 point

Sounds right to me. This article does a nice job of breaking down the bowl tie-ins. https://collegefootballnews.com/2022/07/college-football-bowl-ties-affiliations-for-each-conference-2022-2023/71 point

Akron to tear down the rest of the Rubber Bowl. The estimated the cost of the demolition is $750,000. The city has applied for a state grant that would cover 80% of the project.1 point

The level of difficulty it took to land Hunter depends whether or not you believe the reports that Barstool Sports paid Hunter $1.5 million in NIL to go to said HBCU.1 point

Wouldn’t be surprised. He’s a player JoeMo recruited out of high school. Also expect the staff to at least reach out to Oregon 4 star WR Dont’e Thornton.1 point
