In those clips he looks and moves like Jason Taylor did. Not to put pressure on him or anything đ3 points

For those wondering why Ryan Day is trending on Twitter, it isn't because Suckeyes fans are happy. Ohio State has lost 5, 5 star COMMITS today, and a number of 4 star commits as well.3 points

thank you, thank you, thank you. What a fantastic job keeping this list updated. If he signed, could you add a signed in front of Lorenzo on Post 1?3 points

Never had a reason to root for or against BC before. Now I hate them.3 points

Ball unfortunately had The Betty White Bone Density Syndrome. Lingard was injured early in his college career, but seems to be healthy towards the end. He just got stuck behind a couple great Florida backs. Hope he has a fairy tale ending at UA.3 points

I'm sure this will end up in the Recruiting section at some point, but I figured the story itself deserved main page eyes. Matt Futch is the Boys Basketball coach over at CVCA. Darryl Peterson, former Akron player, has his son playing for Coach Futch. And boy is Futch lucky. Darryn Peterson, son of Darryl Peterson, is a top 5 player in the country for the class of 2025. He has received shoutouts from LeBron, and just set a CVCA record with 51 points in a single game. He holds offers from Akron as well as some of the top programs in the country. Darryl Peterson is the assistant coach at CVCA, and his oldest son - Darryl III - is a football player for Wisconsin. Very athletic family. This will be a fun story to follow. https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/high-school/basketball/2022/07/20/darryn-peterson-2025-top-college-basketball-recruit-ohio-high-school-cvca-nj-scholars-elite-aau/10084436002/2 points

I think he was a big loss given this squad's lack of size. Fortunately, it hasn't had a huge impact thus far but it continues to concern me.2 points

Certainly not as much fun as seeing the tweets, but if you keep an eye on Post #1 of this thread I'm keeping it updated with which of our Verbal Commitments have signed their LOI's today.2 points

Can't believe he's 66 years old? When he was at Akron the guy never got his due. He brought in some great players...guys that Brookhart won a championship with...with no Stiles Center, and no Infocison...just a dilapidated Rubber Bowl. It took him 9 years at UA to get the Zips to a "nice" 7-5. His tenure at Ashland was "very good," but not "great." But it does make you wonder what he could have done had he stayed at UA. He was loyal to Ashland for 22 years, so if he continued at Akron there's a chance he could have been that long-tenured, "Solich-like" coach? And with improved resources, 8 or 9 win seasons wouldn't have been crazy talk. We'll never know... Enjoy retirement, or whatever comes your way, Lee.1 point

From D2. Could be a steal of a find, a total bust, or somewhere in between. Hard to tell with these types.1 point

I hope your assessment is correct. However, I think he still deserves to be on the Ryan Bain watch list for next season.1 point

Based on Twitter action, the commitment from Lorenzo Lingard is turning some heads.1 point

Someone should have pointed that out to Max before he signed with them. I'm pretty sure that would have prevented him from signing with them.1 point

Meh...he played 400 minutes as a true Freshman. That's more than a lot of Frosh. Played 13 minutes against UCLA. Enrique was his BFF. Playing in a program that likely would be in the MAC finals a few more times during his career. Good for him, but I'm baffled why he left. Maybe I'm just old...if you don't play enough as a Freshman, you transfer. If you play really well, you transfer. A player needs to fall within the "not-bad-enough-to-be-disenchanted-and-transfer-but-not-good-enough-to-be-attractive-in-the-portal" if he's to stick around.1 point

+1. He may be ready to help straightaway đȘ *For @blueandgold we're referring to CB Zayden Laing-Taylor.1 point

Can you please write the names of the commits? I still can't see anything that's uploaded, so frustrating.1 point

Well said. *** And âlet downâ is perfectly fair. It doesnât mean Zips fans are disappointed or disgruntled. Itâs just been a bit of a pain to see so many growing pains thus far. Itâs understandable, but still a bit frustrating. The Zips should have beaten Nevada, and probably Marshall too. And they shot so poorly against the two SEC teams, who they both led in the 2nd half. If they beat NV and Marshall and keep those other two in control, theyâre talked and rated just as highly as the team they beat by 20 in the MAC title game. However, theyâve showed up in big games (though havenât really beaten anyone) and they Zips have 3 double digit losses to great teams, and a choke job against a comparable team. This home stand has been good medicine though, and I have a much better feeling going into Peioria on Thursday. That would be a signature win for the MAC this year. And yeah, UAâs marketing strategy is so whack. Like I said of the SDSU game, if you werenât a die-hard fan, how would you know the game is happening? Sure, the opponents as a whole should be better. But this team was in the NCAA tournament 9 months ago, and even the home opening crowd was abysmal.1 point

Excellent performance by EMU. MAC holding it's own. More G5 vs G5 please.1 point

Spur of the moment trip yesterday. Great day for a game. Thousands of people got together and enjoyed themselves watching a competitive G5 game. The players enjoyed themselves, the students who came enjoyed themselves, alumni all over the place having fun, fans having fun and I'm sure the game benefited their local communities somehow. Someone needs to explain to me again how bowls are outdated and bad for college football because I just don't get it.1 point

I didn't really follow Akron football closely till Lee was hired. I was a sophomore at Malone & was proud of the fact I was from Akron & finally got really excited about Akron football when Lee took over. I thought he'd bring in most of the local MAC-caliber players. He brought in many. I still remember the very first play of the Lee Owens' tenure at UA. We were at the Rubber Bowl -v- EMU. We had Lew Lawhorn, a transfer WR from Temple who returned the opening kickoff for a TD. It was a competitive & entertaining game that EMU finally won w/ their stellar QB Charlie Batch. (Man did Charlie Batch throw a beautiful ball. Smooth as silk.)1 point
