The Zips head to the land of perpetual snow Tuesday night to face Buffalo. Buffalo comes into the game at 10-11/4-4 fresh off of a six-point loss in Garrettsville. In the MAC, the Bulls have beaten Ball State, BG, NIU and Ohio while losing to PCCC, Miami, CMU and Toledo. 6’5” sophomore guard Curtis Jones leads Buffalo scoring at 15.3 ppg while also contributing 5.1 rpg. 5’4” junior guard Zid Powell is second in scoring at 13.7 ppg. 6’8” senior forward LaQuill Hardnett leads rebounding at 7.5 rpg. Buffalo is second in MAC offense and 9th in defense.

Unfortunately, UA basketball is invisible to Joe Akron. There is no marketing toward the general public, they don't hear about the Zips on the local news sports segment, they don't read GT since they don't get a newspaper. This is our new reality. Crowds haven't been consistently huge since the 19-game win streak in 2013. Unless it's Kent, there will be plenty of empty seats, many of them blue chairbacks.

If you look back on some clips of the 2019-2020 season the crowd was sparse as usual for many of MAC game. the final few games against Ohio and Kent were really crowded. There were a decent amount of OU fans there yesterday, including their former guard, Tommy Schmock, who clearly likes his beer. I don't much care about Joe Akron. but I do know the fans who are at these games love this team and the coaching staff.

Whatever happens this week, it's so "nice" or whatever adjective to have Groce and his staff on the bench and even better that they don't need the likes of Carry, Payton and a washed-up Jim Christian to succeed. Side note. This is crazy...Tribble was here with Jeremy Roscoe...and is only a junior.

This group of kids is sure easy to like. There doesn't seem to be a poor character kid in the group. I realize now that this is the second or third year I've essentially said "they're young, they're going to get better,"

You guys were still great! It just doesn't look as intimidating when the section has a large swath of blue seats in the center. But you guys who were there were fantastic! Thank you! The players love it and it really adds to the atmosphere of the game day experience for everyone in attendance. I had another question, what was with so many of the Rowdies wearing red yesterday? What was the theme?

Go home, Athens, you're drunk. They're still pissed at whomever installed internet and cable at the Burrow residence to allow Joe to find out there are other schools outside of OU that he could attend. Boals isn't particularly succeeding at OU, but he also isn't failing. They were spoiled with a special run by Groce and have otherwise been exactly what they have been under Boals - an above average MAC squad that competes in just about every game. Heck of a job by Boals and his staff to get their team to refocus and make this a game in the 2nd half. Always have to hedge your fandom/happiness. Over/Unders is another way to bet Akron. They're largely an under team, but the over 120 (or less) mark is typically safe too. Just gotta find a nice Alternate Total. Love it. I wonder if Kaulig brought him over (minority Guardians owner). Whatever we can do to have him around the University, we need to do. Everything said about him is he's one of the most genuine human beings people have met. Down to earth, intelligent, hard working, etc. Would be good to have him mentor our baseball program and any other student athlete interested.

She’s been trying all year, but finally cashed them in today. In home games, she’s been taking 1-2 a game max and missed just about every one of them. Been pretty good in the mid-range though, just hasn’t been able to extend out…until today!

Tbh idk. I was there and we had the loudest regulars there but there’s a lot of “I’ll watch in march” going on whenever I try to hype up the games. Kent will still be full

I just noticed Middle Tennessee State WBB is ranked #23 in the country, on a 16-game winning streak. Not bad for a mid-major, but they have Lanae Riley, the much sought-after F from Hoban HS, who Akron recruited hard. She's only played in 2 games this season in Murphreesboro. Makes you wonder...

If it's the Zips or Cavs I always add it to a parlay and pick an alt spread moving the opponent to like +10 or something. I figure either my team wins big or I win money.

An ugly but solid win today. Never in doubt from start to finish. Buffalo reminds me of the 2018 UA men’s team. Just completely overmatched. Zips got a big one on Wednesday!!!

He was in Akron for the Rubber Ducks kickoff event. Not sure how he ended up at the JAR, but that's what had him in Akron.
