  1. Maybe we should take a drink for each one we miss to numb the pain.

  2. Spartans looked about the same quality as the average Big East opponent. Maybe not even that good. Zips played well as a unit the first 15 minutes, creating space and asking questions of the MSU defense. Then they inexplicably seemed to lose focus after that. Toward the end, Spartans owned the match. Zips ran out of offensive ideas in the 2nd half, becoming plodding and predictable. Very tough to imagine a positive trajectory for 2024. Roberto Ydrach CB #8 continued to impress, but he made a few miscues. Maximus Barboto MF #21 provided a spark in very limited playing time in the 2nd half. Both Zips outside backs played pretty well, Henry and Kamdem.

  3. Excited to be playing in the MAC in 2025. We have a lot of freshman and Coach Martin is the real deal. Earning the 4th seed, we get a double bye in Brooklyn.

  4. From my sources it seems like this wouldn’t be that drastic of a change if it were to happen. First off, they are simply looking for companies to partner in this, there aren’t any set up yet. Second, all student activities through residence life would remain in the same hands, it is their priority to not have any changes made to student programming in residence life. And third, if a company were to come in, it is also a priority to have the current full time reslife staff not be laid off but rather have them contracted to work with the private company. This story is pretty important to me, going off the username and all

  5. None of Toledo's teams have been strong defensively. That's why they come up short in March. Offense wins games, defense wins championships.

  6. The only problem I noticed on defense on Friday is that Hunter looked very slow especially when Freeman was out with foul trouble and Ali tried to do too much and came off his man to help on defense that led to other problems. We just do not seem to be especially quick on team defense.

  7. I think with a better record Reagan Bass could have been player of the year. Third leading scorer, leading rebounder, four time MAC player of the week (of course all four were the first four weeks of the season). Definite first teamer but not player of the year.

  9. I feel you guys are overlooking the fundamental problems of this team. We didn't lose to WMU and EMU because of poor shooting. We shot over 50% from the field and 41% from 3 against WMU. We shot 48% against EMU. Those are percentage you can and should win with. We're losing because of lack of effort and fundamentals. Outside of Freeman, nobody is boxing out and fighting for 50/50 balls. We're losing because We're giving up too many second chance points. We need to play better defense and secure rebounds once we force a miss. Giving more minutes to players that don't give up their body to make plays at the defensive end won't fix anything.

  11. Can anyone find Vegas odds on a MAC Tournament winner? TeamRankings.com still has us as the favorite: 32% - Akron 23% - Toledo 21% - Ohio 11% - Kent With everyone else below a 10% chance to win.

  12. Stan Heath gets my vote. He led a team he didn't recruit to the Elite 8 two decades ago.

  13. Jermaine Marshall & Samford are playing for the SoCon championship. Edit: my bad. Apparently it’s only the semifinals and the championship game is tomorrow night.

  15. Zips and MSU tie 0-0. Each team gets a point in the table. MSU prevailed 4-3 on pks for future tie-breaker if needed. Disappointing display by our Zips. Indecisive, slow, backward come to mind. Too frustrated to write any more at this time.
