  1. I look at it this way - if Freeman would've entered the portal last summer would any MAC teams turn him down if they had the chance? These coaches are constantly battling each other for players. If they have a chance to make their teams better they're all going to do it.

  2. It's a fairly common theme for the more talented team to pull away in the 2nd half. As @Captain Kangaroo put it, Creighton was the better team at all 5 positions. It would have taken them playing one of their worst games all season and us playing our best to spring an upset. Neither of those two happened.

  3. HS/JUCO TEs: 1) AKRON - Khalil Witherspoon HUDL FILM 2) BALL STATE - Jaxxon Warren HUDL FILM (JUCO) 3) NORTHERN ILLINOIS - Joseph Stein HUDL FILM 4) BOWLING GEEEN - Eli Jacon-Duffy HUDL FILM 5) OHIO - AJ Miller HUDL FILM Transfer TEs: 1) EASTERN MICHIGAN - Jonathan Odom 2) WESTERN MICHIGAN - Chris Toudle 3) AKRON - Max Whisner 4) NORTHERN ILLINOIS - Jake Appleget 5) CENTRAL MICHIGAN - Gavin Harris 2023 TEs and how they fared: 1) WESTERN MICHIGAN - Brennan Wooten = N/A but played in 6 games. 2) AKRON - Conner Cravack = N/A Redshirted. 3) CENTRAL MICHIGAN - Jesiah Stevens-Silva = N/A Redshirted and entered Portal. 4) WESTERN MICHIGAN - Jack Parker = N/A Redshirted 5) BOWLING GREEN - Jacob Harris = N/A Redshirted Who I may have missed on: NORTHERN ILLINOIS - Grayson Barnes = 23 Receptions, 422 Yards, 5 TDs. Barnes was a JUCO that signed after this list was put together last year. He plays the flex WR/TE spot for NIU and is currently listed as WR on their roster.

  4. If the Zips had beaten Wisconsin, they could have lost to Duke by 70 and I'd still be able to die a happy man. Until then, my dream of the Zips making it to the round of 32 continues to be just that...

  5. I understand that the portal is just the way collegiate sports are going, but such a high percentage of the MAC's better talent entering the portal is a bad look for the conference.

  6. Agee's a stud. I also like the big from NIU, Klaus Schwab Niedenhouser von Trapp or something. I'd LOVE to see SDSU's William Kyle III in the blue & gold. I've been following him all week seeing if he'd enter and today he did. 🙏🙏🙏 NIU's Coit still not in the portal. I wanna see another LCJIII/X2.0-esque PG running the show. But I do get not wanting to poach from our own conference. Given the choice I would prefer to not cannibalize the MAC. Hopefully everyone in the conference (excluding KSUcks) can land some nice, exciting-to-watch talent.

  7. Very hopeful Seymore is an impact transfer. On Miami-FL's website it said that during his senior year of high school he was rated the #6 offensive guard in the nation by ESPN & #7 by Rivals.

  8. As much as we complain about the Beacon, that was an interesting article regarding how gambling has effected the players and coaches, and not in a good way. Reminds me of the weirdest telecast of a Zips game when Barstools talked more about the over and under than about the game. Only a matter of time before some student athlete gets paid to fix a game. I can smell a scandal coming with all the money out there and student athletes not getting much or any money and all of the action that is bet on the college games.

  9. The UMass poster (Steve) who occasionally drops in here mentioned that the UMass collective has different tiers and that entry starts as low as $10/mo. If Akron had something like that, I wouldn't be opposed to contributing. Obviously it doesn't amount to much unless you have several very large donors or thousands of small ones.

  10. I think it was the Cavs coach the other day that complained about the fans in the stands yelling at him to keep his starters on the court in a blow-out in order to cover the spread. The next government bail out will be for the soon-to-be millions of destitute gamblers.

  11. It does have a certain "poaching" feeling to it. I wonder how it's perceived by teams that lose players to us. I'll compromise though. I just take the really good ones!

  14. Could you imagine Enrique leaving the Zips to play his final season for YSU? Lots of NIL money in Youngstown. The mob and NIL $$ are a match made in heaven.

  21. If I'm using my trusty calculator correctly, 39 transfers equals 25% of the MAC scholarships from last year are in the portal. Ugh!!

  22. I’m watching JMU get curb-stomped by Duke (4). Down 35 points with 2 minutes to play. I guess losing to Creighton (3) could have been worse.
