Good for Dru. It's a gamble for a bb program in a multi-bid (more often than not) conference to take a flier on a guy with zero HC experience...but what do they have to lose? Worst case, they wait another 47 years to get into the tournament. I'd rather take my chances with a guy like Dru than dig up some HC retread that had marginal P5 success. Wonder what the future holds for McNees and McFadden?

I thought Zip nation would find this interesting to learn more about UMASS joining the conference.

KJ Jefferson would be a recent name everyone knows and a comparison stat wise. In no way am I expecting that kind of leap, but what a threat Bullock would be if he could at bare minimum hit the easy throws and not turn the ball over.

At most - half. Most MAC programs have their top 2-3 producers from last season in the Portal. I doubt those guys are being told they won't have guaranteed playing time or a spot on the roster next season. To deliver a shock and awe effect with his tweets, that Tyler fellow would be better off driving into the production of the players in the Portal instead of the quantity. 46 players sounds like a lot, and it technically is, but it leaves the door open for questions like yours, 1981 - "how many are told to leave?" "60% of the MAC's total points scored in the 2023-24 season have entered the transfer portal. An additional 20% of the total points will have graduated, leaving only 20% of the total scoring production returning at this point next season." Those numbers aren't real, but they're probably not far off from the truth and really hammer home how much the MAC has seemingly lost so far. Will some in the portal currently return to their initial MAC school? Probably - one already has for WMU. But most will find new chairs to sit in during this wild game of Musical Chairs.

What percentage of these players is the coach telling them they have no future in the program and being forced to leave? I think Garvin Clarke went to a division 3 program after leaving Akron. Maybe some of the transfer will be going down a division.

The Pittsburgh press is as lazy as the rest of them and is better than most at cheerleading for bad decisions. This article claims he has good experience. Five years at CSU and Duquesne combined isn't that great of experience. Being friends with James isn't experience. This is ABJ level logic. Don't take the job Dru. It's a historically bad program that went on a great 5 game stretch. It's almost always a coach killer. Find an assistant job at a good P5 program for a couple of years. The connection with James will be enticing for one of them just like it is for Duquesne. If you want after that, take a mid major job. It's a better path to a P5 HC job.

Find me some odds on Freeman for future POY and I'll put a few bucks on it! That would be quite a payout
