It would be so cool if the Zips beat OU on Saturday, and this thread dropped like a Kent quarterback.7 points

SFU hands down the most uninspired, lousy team the Zips have played. Did what they should have done to them. They need to flush this one more than any previous wins, losses or draws and be ready for the Hoyas. The Georgetown game can really be a statement that this team has found itself.4 points

This is so riddled with falsehoods it is close to comical. No one who witnessed Arth's programs would ever make these statements. Talk to the athletes, the support staff, the asst coaches, the administrators, they all spoke of a program floundering, one that was lost because Arth was. Of his ten coaching hires he had a total of 9 years of D1 coaching experience. He could not recruit in the MAC. He had a budget bigger than Moorhead had today. The enrollment decline had not hit athletics yet. His teams were terribly prepared for games and in the off-season. Guthrie cares about winning. He has told all the head coaches they must have a viable plan to be in the top three in the MAC. A quick look at athletics finances will show they have no money to buy out coaches. They weren't even willing to buy out Melissa Jackson last year, even though she was out-coached in every significant game and her record against the .500+ teams in the mAC was terrible. Moorhead needs to show the team is improving every week, which it has not. Yet we are where we realistically should be after four games. Firing him and his staff is stupidity extreme. They can coach and recruit. They present the best chance to turn around football. Please care enough to do research and spell his name correctly.3 points

3-0 UNLV's QB has quit the team based upon representations made by the school not being met. Welcome again to the new age of college athletics. The check must have bounced. https://sports.yahoo.com/unlvs-starting-qb-says-no-064119975.html2 points

Zips are 12 points underdogs. The way I think it breaks down is 3 for being on the road + 3 for punt return fielding issues + 3 for QB with PTSD + 3 for clock management issues.2 points

This is more like what we were expecting this year, although Saint Francis is not a particularly strong squad.2 points

This is the last year that we can give Moorhead a chance to keep his job. 3 years on the job with only 2 wins isn’t progress but status quo. I’m pulling him for this year but as fans of our Zips we deserve more. Still can’t understand firing Bowden 5 years ago. No more excuses on almost winning MAC games. Got to win 500 level or close to it for him to keep his job. Bowden was in a similar spot and finally in year 3 the rebuild turned around. I’m going to root for Moorhead until he proves me wrong with another 2 win season.1 point

If Akron found a coach that could consistently go 7-5 or 8-4, he'd probably get a statue outside of the stadium. Regardless of if he won MAC championships or not. The bar is that low at Akron.1 point

Sports talk yutzes have made 40+ year careers discussing why XYZ team's backup QB should be playing, and why the incumbent coach should be fired. It's been going on here since maybe 2018? Man, I grow weary of it. I'm sure I'm not alone. If the Zips could win a few games and steer our conversations towards the other stuff (what transpired on the field, recruiting, how we match up against the next week's opponent, etc.), I'd be a happy man.1 point

I like Anna Simmons’ offensive creativity. She just has difficulty staying match fit, always with some nagging injury. If/when Anna puts it all together, the Zips will have the playmaking to be dangerous in the front third.1 point

Tremendous goal by Dyson! Totally outmatched his defender. 2-0 Zips1 point

This is a president who has invested multiple millions of dollars in a meaningless affinity program with the Cleveland Browns. Those dollars should would have helped boost other enrollment initiatives, including improving the football program.1 point

Watched the Buffalo match, didn't watch the CMU match. They were outmatched vs. Buffalo, but put up a great fight defensively. Held them scoreless for 75 minutes, but you could tell one play was going to settle it, and the second goal was expected after the disappointment. Have no idea how the 1-0 loss to the Chipps occurred, but no goals in 2 straight matches means the O has to step it up. @MDZip likes Heskitt, I think she still lacks quickness but is a player. My favorite so far is Kiana Harsh - solid defender and fierce. Go get 'em Zips on Thursday night!1 point

I'd love it if Joe asked him what his plan is to help him get into the top 3.1 point

As you know, when QB's continually get hit and chased, most of them develop bad habits. Your ribs are hurting, your shoulders are sore etc.,etc. After 3 beatings, he is now anticipating those hits. Throws start going off the back foot. They get out too early. Too many throws on the run. That leads to missing targets even when there is a 'surprisingly' clean pocket. And with this O line and lack of a consistent run game a clean pocket is as you say, surprising. Here is hoping it all comes together in Athens.1 point
