So I went to my 1st G league game. Those guys are really good. Stronger and faster. Enrique had a great 4th quarter. Hit a few 3s, a dunk and the Mad Ants won a close game. The arena was super nice and the locals seem to really support their team.

Four #1 seeds to the Final Four. Yawn.

Just happened to notice this, Chris Henry is the #1 High School recruit in the country. He of course got a ton of P4 offers, with a couple of exceptions. Way to swing big, Joe.

Outside of Sullinger & VCD, they were not very good. Gillespie had his moments outside of punching teammates in the face, and Medley showed flashes, but they are legitimately graduating the two biggest threats. The more guys that return, the less scholarships they have to actually improve. Also, all of their individual announcements state "I'm back" which epitomizes what that program is all about - "I" & "me", not "we".

Go big or go home. We could have landed him and we would never have known with the amount of hype the team is receiving this off-season. Where is the 3 minute interviews with players and coaches that were done nearly every day two or three years ago? I asked Camden about this and he said they hoped to do more after basketball ended. Well we still have nothing. Camden is a good guy and part of the solution so I'm not on his back. Why can't we pay a student to take his phone and do interviews, anything? That is not a cost issue.

Ditto for most of the above ...IMO, like all of the MAC they need a scoring big (to play beside Gillespie) and a scoring guard beside Medley plus a solid freshman for depth, to just get back to 'Top 4' in the MAC. They have not had a 'difference maker' for several years now.

I cringe as I type this because we already beat this horse to death and we are in agreement. But here’s a possible scenario if Evan struggles to shoot and Amani regains his confidence. Evan plays with Amani, Evan at the wing defensively and Amani at the 5. Offensively they switch, Amani on the perimeter and Evan at the 5. I just wouldn’t suggest playing Evan and Okonkwo together under those circumstances.

Big, small or in between, we can count on Groce to figure it out. He's won here with Riak and X in the lineup, with Enrique being the focus and with a fast paced guard driven 3 point focused offense. He doesn't lock into one plan and force his players into it, he gets the talent and character and fits the plan to what he has.
