  1. I think CBS or Espn picked it up for Friday. Thanks for the heads up on PCCC
  2. wow. some great comments and observations (apart from Clark). Groce said the team was ...ugh...using winning as a deodorant. I guess Riak served the same purpose.
  3. Zips seem to play better when they are on national TV (as opposed to a former coach's teams), so I look for a big bounce back Friday against BG. But, then again, I'm always wrong.
  4. One of the best posts I've ever read on here. I noticed as well that the "bench mob" is no longer a mob as much as they are out of state guests. I think a good win against BG on Friday will put this in the rear window.
  5. That lasted like a minute
  6. We had it coming from OU. Like that song from Chicago. We (me) rip them on here and last years game at OU went down to the end and Kittens made quite a comeback. Then we blasted them at home on national TV after being behind by a lot at half. Then the earlier game up here. Boals got his first win on Groce in an empty convo.
  7. Two of the Zips last 3 regular season opponents are playing now. One is up by 40 at halftime. The other is up by 23.
  8. You make a good point. Just a mess of a season and you just can't tell who gets advantage. At first blush, Toledo benefits from playing a full season but are their players tired or injured. OU may have gotten a beneficial vacation heading into the final few weeks. Akron stuck in the middle. Running all over.
  9. Good comment. I think its a mental drain more than physical. NIU got Zips after a long break and were motivated. And they have 3 more tough games ahead.
  10. Just like 2019 OU game at the JAR. Right when the Zips crashed at end of season and played themselves into a quarter final game with top 20 Canada.
  11. Uh...I'm sure Kent will finish better than Zips who are flailing.
  12. Sorry, Ravenna A &M
  13. Yeah. That school just outside Brimfield
  14. Can't win them all. Kent State and Toledo your top 2 seeds. Pinky at least lost to two of the better teams...not sure what the Zips count for at this point.
  15. Akron v Ohio at the JAR 2019. Just like this.
  16. OU has all the right to own us on this one. Team totally let down and Groce got his ass kicked in Athens. Im sure they wish they had fans to witness this epic fail. Zips may beat Miami at home. But stumbling in to Cleveland
  17. They got nothing to lose and pent up energy. Zips play last few games like they don't care.
  18. This team is digressing fast. Tanking in February unlike last years team. They were #1 in FTs now middle of the pack. LCJ totally dropping off. No POY for him.
  19. They can't ever start well. 3 of 12. Geez.
  20. And we know when down a good player the others step up. Like when Cheese was out at Buffalo last season
  21. No excuses.
  22. I guess Zips are now at -1. Boals admitted not everyone will be available for the game Tuesday. And the Bobcats may not be complete for another week to 10 days. “We still don’t have everyone. We won’t everyone (Tuesday), or even Thursday,” the coach said. “Maybe by Saturday. “I’m not naïve enough to think we’ll go out and play our best basketball,” the coach said. “It’ll be sloppy.”
  23. Good post. I guess last year wasn't all sunshine and lollipops as they say.
  24. somewhat surprising. Despite no divisions this year, sure looks like the finish to every other regular season when the Zips must run the gauntlet of the superior East Division (apart from PCCC this time).
  25. There are other MAC schools that have tourney runs over the years including that team up the road in Brimfield. Eastern Michigan beat Duke in first round! The difference here is that those coaches stayed or didn't come back and coach at your rival school. Most of them failed apart from the guys who left Canada one after the other. The Akron/OU rivalry heated up with Groce and Dambrot. In the tourney Groce got lucky or outcoached Dambrot twice. But he also bombed out between those two NCAA appearances with that same squad minus the player turned felon Armon Bassett. He also had OSU's Holtmann as an asst. Groce is a unicorn in that he came back to the same conference to coach the hated rival. Putting myself in a Bobcat's shoes, I may feel like there is some unfinished business without being sure what that business is.
