You know, I did not have huge expectations for this year. I expected to win the MAC, make the NCAA tournament and perhaps win a game or two. Normally those would be very high expectations but not for this program. How many teams could continue to compete at a very high level after losing 7 key starters from the year before? After seeing the whole package (including Luke), though, I absolutely would not rule out the Zips making another run to the College Cup. And that is just amazing.

Pretty impressive to be named National Player of the week the very first week you play in the NCAA. Wow.

Zips have not lost to EMU in over a decade. That doesn't change now - Zips 20-17.

GoZips.com reported that there were 2855 students at the game. That is a really awesome number.

Besides we are 25-6 all time vs OSU in soccer. Not much of a rivalry there either.

Zach Campbell is 33rd in punting average. At first I didn't see him and I was worried he might not have enough attempts to qualify.

Still pretty nice to finally get a win. Frenchy mentioned this is the first time in history that the Zips have had a 150 yard rusher and 150 yard receiver.

Already lost to Temple and don't play Toledo. Not too may more spolier chances. Moore's completion percentage is pretty bad again today.

Ball St up on Army 28-0. OU trails Rutgers by a TD. Maybe if all of the rest of the MAC does well, some conference will absorb us as a whole. This is better today but still not impressive.

I'm still worried - the only time we have ever beaten an FCS team at Infocision is when we give them some of our players beforehand - I just don't see that here.

The only consolation - the only other MAC school on the list (even the waiting list) - Can't. Northeast Ohio - proud football traditions (sigh).

And right at a time when the NCAA puts Boise on probation. Is it not possible to do well in NCAA D-1A football without cheating?

Discounting UA-Temple the MAC was 5-5 (Miami didn't play). Four of the losses were the BCS team and two to ranked teams. Only one team looked totally outclassed playing like competition. Guess who that was? (sigh)

But still trying to give it away. A missed field goal and a 15 yard penalty on a play where they had an 11 yard sack. CMU also tied with Kentucky. The MAC looks to be improved this year. We may be in for a heap of trouble.
