  1. And as well as the Akron offense is playing it's their defense that's really sticking out to me
  2. I've been to that stadium - appropriate place to try to stage a game like this. It might be the worst stadium in the FBS and I've been to all but about a dozen.
  3. And congrats to LCJ for being named the MAC East Player of the Week. ?
  4. Wow, EPSN's BPI calculator gives Western only a 6.3% chance to win this game.
  5. Zips could not have played much better in that half. But what's wrong with Banks. He's the only zip who's attempted a three who's shooting under 60%. ?? Holy crap.
  6. Man you've got to love LCJ. What heart
  7. I think betting the under here would have been the smart move
  8. NCAA Net rankings are out. Overall leader - San Diego St. Akron is the MAC leader at #70. Kent 82 Ball St 127 Ohio 140 Toledo 150 Buffalo 161 BGSU 172 EMU 181 Miami 198 NIU 215 CMU 217 and WMU 251
  9. And QB Mike Glass III of Eastern Michigan does the MAC proud by getting ejected with a few seconds left in their bowl loss to Pitt by accidentally punching a ref in the face (who was trying to keep him from punch another player after he had already punched one).
  10. I know the transitive property doesn't work but Tulane was no slouch. They beat Utah who just knocked off Kentucky. Tomorrows game should be interesting. Liberty is currently in the Others Receiving Votes category. If the Zips can get past them (assuming they beat Towson) could the Zips get a few top 25 ORV votes as well with their only losses being to the AP #3 and #25 teams?
  11. Whew - on the web those last four seconds took forever. Cool I'll head down to the championship game tomorrow. This would have been a fun game to be at thanks for making it at 2:30 on a Friday schedule makers.
  12. Sloooow start to the second half Zips up 36-33 with 16:41 remaining
  13. Zips up by four at the half
  14. Tulane climbing back in, 28-23 with two minutes left. Everyone who as played for the Zips has scored. Riak, Tribble and Ali on the board.
  15. Zips on a bit of a run 22-12 with 9:04 left in the half. Jackson the leading scorer with 9, followed by Banks with 4.
  16. Google Update has a little more info than the ESPN Gamecast. Zips up 13-10, 11:31 remaining. Banks Reece Jackson Williams and Cheese appear to be the starting five.
  17. Its so strange to have the NCAA soccer tournament come out and not have the Zips in it. And the MAC rep in the tournament didn't win a single regular season MAC match. ?
  18. Got your wish ?
  19. Does anyone else get this message on poll questions "You do not have permission to vote in this poll, or see the poll results."?
  20. I was confused by this too, here's why the Zips are already the champs Tie breaker for MAC soccer teams 1. Between TWO teams: A. Head-to-head competition B. Division Record (10 games)^ (note: irrelevant for men's soccer) C. Winning percentage* vs. ranked conference teams (top to bottom, regardless of division, vs. common opponents regardless of the number of times played) D. Coin flip So the worst the Zips can end is 3-1-1 and the best either WMU or SIU-E can end is also 3-1-1 (but not both because they play each other). If SUI-E ends 3-1-1 the Zips win on head to head. If WMU goes 3-1-1 it drops to the highest team in the standings that you lost to. Since WMU lost to NIU and there is no way NIU can finish lower in the standings than WVU (since the Zips would have to lose to them in this scenario) that is where the Zips eliminate WMU so they are the regular season champs and host no matter what happens tomorrow. In any case glad to see the tournament back where it belongs ?
  21. Not only back again but occupying the #1 slot. Sigh.
  22. "Local" FCS teams (within a 3 hour drive): Youngstown Robert Morris Duquesne Not much to pick from.
