On another injury update.I feel like I've been run over by an 18 wheeler. Started feeling REAL bad on the drive back to Akron last night and barely slept. Going over to the doctor now. He better give me some strong stuff cause I don't wanna be staying at home for this one.

I don't know about the team, but personally I don't want to see Can't again this year. Beating a good team like that 3 times in one year is a tall task. I'd much rather matchup against WMU on Friday. Or better yet NIU.

As far as Conyers goes I gotta agree with Zip Watcher here. Yeah, Conyers is making some mistakes here and there, but the kid has been an absolute beast on the defense end and especially on the boards over the last week. You gotta remember, this is a kid who hadn't played organized ball in over a year before the start of this season. I have a feeling that these minutes he's logging now are going to pay very big dividens in the coming years for this team.

Great move by Can't State trapping Dials often. Worked on him several times. Good coaching.Thank goodness Dials made them pay at the end with a great pass. He needs to elevate his offensive game at the Q. Speaking of Dials, does anyone remember when there were about 18 seconds on the clockin OT and Dials was bringing the ball out. Can't State tried to foul him but the refs would not call a damn thing, so we had to use our final timeout to avoid the 5 second violation. I really don't know what those refs were thinking. Can't State did that all night to Dials and there were no calls, and we were complaining about it, so its kind of ironic that the final no-call benefitted us by allowing us to set up the game winning shot. I've come to the sad realization that across the MAC Nick Dials is one of the most hated players in the Confrence. I have no explanation to offer that doesn't go into any kind of racial issues so I'll stay away from that one but it seems to hold pretty true. Him and Linhart get shoved around all over the place while refs just look the other way. It's pretty ridiculous sometimes.

I hate to stir the pot a little here. And let me preface these comments by saying that I have all the respect in the world for Dru and Romeo. I truly believe that without those two Akron basketball would still be stuck in a .500 at best funk. I'm one who believes that their overall impact on the program deserves them a spot in the rafters of the JAR, but........Does anyone else find it just a little ironic that the biggest play of the biggest game of their senior year is a layin by Wood off a feed from Dials?

Just got back after sitting in the Can't parking lot not moving for 25 minutes.WOW WHAT A GAME!Thats a showcase for the MAC. Thats a game that needs to be on ESPN or at least the Duece. If you don't like that you don't like basketball. I thought we were done when we hit OT. Dru was out, Ced had 4 fouls, Dials 3. We looked tired. Can't seemed to be rolling. Then when Ced missed those 2 FT's I was about ready to pack it in. These guys didn't give up. THIS is the game that we needed heading into the tournament. We proved tonight that we could go on the road and take down a close one. How big was Jeremiah Wood? Even without the winning shot he had a big night. There aren't too many players in the MAC that can beat him on the boards when he is on.Also, we get Nate back which can only help heading into the tournament.WOW, its over an hour after the game ended and my heart is still racing. Just wow!

I've been thinking about this. Is Linharts injury a blessing in disguise?Think about it:-I heard on the pregame show last night that the team is "optimistic" that Nate will be back for the tournament.-Rybak has emerged as a surprisingly competent option.-Conyers seemed to be doing a lot better with the extra minutes at Buffalo. Especially on the offensive boards.-Dials getting more looks and knocking them down like noones business.So now going into the Tourney we could, potentially, have more competent depth in Rybak and Conyers, Dials with a hot hand AND Nate back.

Just a couple other side notes before we start the second half.Conyers with only 3 points and 3 fouls but he's got about 6 rebounds. Sounds about like a typical night from Linhart.Romeo with about 3 more blocked shots. He's been going for the kill every time someone hoists up a shot the last week.Toledo losses, Can't losses.....hmmm......I can hope.If Nick Dials can keep this pace up through the tournament we are going to roll.

48-29 at the half. Would have liked to have been up more, but a very nice first half. Keep it up. Heck just keep giving Nick Dials the ball. At the rate he's going he could hit 50 tonight.

Liking how this one is going so far. Our defense is really forcing Buffalo into some BAD shots and some turnovers as well. On the other end we keep hitting and hitting. Keep this up and hopefully we'll be able to see the bench the last 10 min. or so. Give the starters a lil rest before the Can't game.Can't-27BG-23 for anyone who cares.
