  1. I am a 5th year reseved season ticket holder and I did purchase a parking pass when they called me. I did get a Lot 9 pass which I also had last year. I am very excited about this and know that many of you were wondering if you would get Lot 9. So I figured I would post this.

I'm a 40 year season ticket holder and I recieved my tickets this week. I got a pass to lot #9 also, 2 in fact. Last year I was in lot #13 which was OK with me. I am also wondering who were the lot #9 winners and losers this season. Will lot #9 be tailgate central again this season, or will the activities move to a new location? :horse:

  2. Semaj Christon has been offered by the Zips.

Semaj Christon (6'3/2011) guard of Cincinnati Winton Woods is starting to be noticed by many for his talents on the basketball floor. Christon has earned offers from Bethune-Cookman, Akron, and Ashland thus far after his play in the Adidas Invitational and Kentucky Hoopfest.

Christon was lodged behind Auburn signee Allen Payne, Louisville football signee Dominique brown, and athletic wing forward Nate Mason last season but next year will be his time to shine at Winton Woods.

This could be our guy. :)

  3. I got to spend some time today with former Zips standout Jimmal Ball. He still looks great and loves playing in France. He lives in Paris and really enjoys the freewheeling lifestyle of a young single man, if you get my drift. He has now played 10 seasons in Europe. Stats If anyone can speak French, here is his fan site. www.jimmalball.com He has played most of his career in France, but did spend a couple of seasons in Germany and one very memorable season in Kosovo. It looks to that the 3 time French MVP won't be hanging it up anytime soon. BTW, his all time best vertical was 38" and when he left school was a Zips record.

  4. We have our team, comprised of 4 ZN members.

I say we get some action going on the ZipsNation foursomes? Is a buck a man too rich for anyone's blood?

But is isn't really about the dollar... it's about 365 days of ZN bragging rights, and the coveteted Jakubik Cup trophy.

I'm on the fence about playing in this event. I haven't made one in the past due to other commitments, but this year I might be able to make time. I'm up to my eyeballs renovating a rental property I own and not sure if I can take a whole day off to play. What is the format, scramble or some type of 4 man best ball? I haven't played Portage CC in quite a while. It's not too long, but has fairly tight fairways. I would love to compete against some of my fellow ZN.O members for bragging rights.

  5. Howards baby momma gave birth to his child a week or so ago. Just one more reason that he will never see the field for anybody.

You'd be surprised how many student-athletes have kids.

I'm sure your right about that. I just don't understand why this kid is making things difficult for himself. A baby is just one more obstacle and distraction.

He has talent, but I question his work ethic and priorities.

  6. Any word on the team shop at the Info? This is becoming beyond ridiculous. How is it that I cannot purchase anything worthwhile to show support for my team? Have you checked out the storefront on gozips lately? They are promoting polos. Click on the polos tab. . . nothing available. Does anybody know why our merchandise offering is so pathetic? It really pisses me off in case you can't tell. Especially when you can make Akron Zips LeBron James jerseys available to pretty young girls for a totally inane and ill-conceived panderfest. 23x4....the cumulative IQ of the folks in the picture???

    .....

  7. Z-P nailed it. My son is just about to start his 5th year of youth football. The most serious injuries if have seen were caused by large piles and limbs being twisted and fallen on. The equipment and the rules prevent almost any highspeed collisions. His helmets fit his head like a glove and the shoulder pads really do work to prevent injuries.

  8. I'm not usually a fan of Bill Livingston, the sports columnist for the PD, but I think his column today nails it for me.

For LeBron James, there is no winning exit strategy in free agency: Bill Livingston

The team's hands are tied by the nice big bow James put on them by not speaking to Tom Izzo and not recruiting potential free agents. If there were not still the reasonable chance he might stay, the circumstances of the would-be defection and the resentment of the possible defector's conduct would have triggered a much more seismic backlash.

To leave money on the table, to spurn the hometown franchise that did everything possible to win while others razed their rosters to get the salary cap room to woo him, to exempt himself from responsibility for the mess that would be left behind, to hit a city suffering from the economy when it is down -- this would be to mock everything he has said about family and loyalty.
