  1. The turning point of the game started with 50 seconds left in the first half. Zips were up 34-30 and we gave up 7 unanswerd points including the desperation 3 by Witherspoon at the buzzer. That was a big momentum shift. The game w a s lost when Toledo scored the first 8 points of the second half to go up by 11. After that we hung around for a while keeping the score within 4-6 points. Everytime we would make a run, we would get whistled for a cheap foul or UT would pop in a 3 to push the lead back out again. After it became obvious that Cheatham was not going to be able to play in the second half we were in trouble.
  2. I hope Zipmiester is OK. Just having a little fun with the suggestions.
  3. Funny that they both disappeared at the same time.
  4. You're right CK. I used the wrong terminology in my previous post calling him a grey shirt. He wwas definitely an academic non-qualifier.
  5. Ivey was an academic non-qualifier. If he has the grades he will be on scholarship next season . I would say the odds are pretty good.
  6. Either that or he might be waiting to get paroled for good behavior.
  7. Sometimes the refs are wrong and can act like jerks. It is perfectly fine to point out their mistakes without making it personal. We have a very mild mannered member of this forum who was tossed out a game when a referee made an assumption that wasn't made based on the facts. Being second guessed by coaches and fans is part of the job and if you can't take it, you should consider a different career.
  8. I would come but I am going to Toledo to attend the game and visit my money(my daughter attends UT).
  9. Don't laugh, he did get rid of the pink drivers licenses.
  10. JZ with 2 epic posts tonight!
  11. I would come out and join other fans for some of the road games.
  12. If you went to Charleston to watch the basketball team you got to experience many of the things you talk about Skip. There was a group of a couple of hundred fans who had a great time interacting with the players, coaches and most importantly the other fans. Hanging out in the team hotel there were ample opportunities to interact with the players and their families. At any game,if you are willing to wait around until the players leave the locker the room I'm sure they would be glad to sign autographs and take photos . The same would be true for road games too.
  13. "As you know, ah, you go to war with the army you have---not the army you might want or wish to have at a later time.--" D Rumsfeld
  14. His team is 19-0 and he was tournament MVP. You need to take a close look at the photos in that article. The guy is ripped! A man amongst boys. http://www.news-record.com/sports/hsxtra/greensboro-day-beats-northwest-guilford---in-haeco-men/article_82210770-8fc9-11e4-9edf-e7be1e6840a2.html?mode=jqm
  15. It's futile.
  16. There is no budget for paying for halftime entertainment that I know of. As long as that big albartross across the street keeps sucking every last dollar out of the athletics budget, I wouldn't expect much in the way of halftime entertainment.
  17. Volleyball could play their games at the Central Hower gym.
  18. I plan on beating JohnnyZip this year. For those of you who haven't played in the past, I would suggest you make all your picks for the whole season right now. That way if you forget to log on for a week you don't end up with a bad record. You can always go back and change your picks right before the games are played.
  19. I would be for the renovation if it included the following; An addition with a practice court. Removing the walking track. Removing all the roll out seating and replacing it with permanent concrete risers and stadium quality seats. New restrooms and concession areas. Space for events and gatherings. This could be part of the new practice facility. A complete technology upgrade including anew scoreboard and TV studio.
  20. Why should I pay taxes to the State so they can decide who gets what and send it back to my local community. Now that Summit county doesn't have big daddy down in Columbus collecting for them they need to do a better job of convincing the local taxpayers to ante up.
  21. When did we move to Colorado?
  22. How much of that was taken from the Sheriffs budget.
  23. I guess enough people like me are questioning why the Sheriffs expenses have gone up so much in the last few years that they have to cut staffing at the jail. The Sheriff just announced they are going start charging the communities that use their services quite a bit more in the near future. Summit County sheriff raising price of police protection If my math is right those increases add up to $3.7 million in increased funding. Show us the money Mr Sheriff and maybe we will be more interested in paying for your tax increase.
  24. I spent several hours in Tom Parkers Common Pleas courtroom today with my sons Boy Scout troop observing cases be adjudicated. Out of the approximately 40 cases that he heard today, 35 of them were drug related. Mainly heroin offenses. Heroin is an very addictive drug and the users commit many crimes in order to fund their habit. I would wager that this is the biggest issue causing the over crowded conditions at the county jail. A good number of them had already been through treatment programs which did not result in them kicking their drug habit. Are we going to be over run with these low level offenders who are committing burglaries and other petty crimes? Unless law enforcement does a better job of arresting the suppliers the jail is going to bursting at the seams.
