  1. The last time OU played in this bowl there were 28k in attendance. The bowl has averaged well over 20k attendance since it's inception. And the capacity is only 37k, so barring a blizzard it will be a great environment. And a profitable bowl. I think it will be the coolest. I don't think I will be able to attend, but so what. Congrats to the Zips on playing in a 2015 bowl!
  2. Hit 'em with a few Statue of Liberty's...a couple Hook-n-Ladders...a fake FG or two...win the game, and we are Bowl Immortals.
  3. VanHoose was another great Marshall player from that era. Around 2002 was pretty much the end of the MAC basketball heyday. Ball State had some awesome teams, let by Bonzi Wells. OU had Gary Trent. K.e.n.t. was rolling. Miami had some fantastic teams. It is amazing to me how many of those former juggernaut programs, with then NBA-level talent, have become hoops-irrelevant.
  4. Too late. Hilltopper already broke the news.
  5. You are what you eat.
  6. Om..nom...nom...
  7. The long wait for the bowl decision is a serious football buzz-kill.
  8. It was interesting to hear Dambrot discuss his quandary in the post game interview - "Big Dog and Pat could do whatever they wanted inside, offensively. But even our guards couldn't defensively keep up with their guards...so there was no way I could play both our bigs at the same time." He then said "Maybe it was the wrong decision...I don't know" I thought it was kind of insightful. Joe Dunn did a nice job with his post game questions last night. Kwan did a bad job with his layups last night.
  9. Olive Green?
  10. Yay, we're in the ACC!! Keener will be stoked!
  11. Interesting note: The Zips averaged 170.2 yards per game on the ground, 46.5 yards better than last season. Additionally, the Zips rushed for 2,043 total yards, exceeding year's season total of 1,484 (after just 10 games). Akron also allowed nine fewer sacks.
  12. Or, 8pm start = more time at the bar before the game.
  13. I agree. Early in the season, I forget what game, she gave Coe a personal foul penalty that I'm still trying to figure out. Beyond that, I've hardly noticed her. So she doesn't seem to be any different than the guys.
  14. Toledo Blade Column Like her? Hate her?
  15. As a Zips fan, it is great to be going into the "closing time" of recruiting season with the quarterback position solidified, a winning staff in place, a bowl berth and a winning record. Couple all of that with our facilities, and I'd expect we'll have a great 2016 recruiting class. To quote Charlie Frye from his Frenchy interview: "If you're a high school football player, why wouldn't you want to come here?"
  16. So I guess the passports were necessary so eveyone can cross the bridge to watch the Windsor Ballet?
  17. We need to shoot deeper 3's. NBA range isn't working for us.
  18. Zips win in a blow-out. 45-13. Why even play the game?
  19. Ohio is pretty good.
  20. Interesting to see former Zips commit Jacob Harrison is now committed to Navy. Good for him.
  21. He didn't redshirt as a Freshman, so can use 2015 as a redshirt season.
  22. Great to see him get some recognition. Ascending from a week 3rd stringer, to a Week 11 POTW is awesome. Congrats Tommy! Now - BEAT K.e.n.t!
  23. We also have Jones (BC transfer) to bolster the secondary next season.
  24. Seemed like a good idea to get this one rolling asap, or we'll lose track of it. November 23rd, 2015 Kretzer - racing heart - Status unknown Forsythe - Broken rib - Out indefinitely Ivey - Floaters in the knee - Out ≈2 weeks Williams - Back spasms - Day-to-day Robotham - ACL- Out ≈4 weeks
