Zips MAC Tournament- 2023

I've already purchased my tickets for Thursday and Friday nights. đŠđ€ Still holding off on buying Saturday tickets for some reason? đ -
My renewal was $99 per season ticket, with no extra fees. Billed $198 for 2 reserved seats, including parking.

I agree it's asking a lot to expect Sammy to repeat Tuesday night's performance night-in-night-out. But he seemed to play with an entirely different sense of urgency on both sides of the floor. It almost seemed like a little light went on in the previous game where he threw down that nasty two-handed dunk.
-
I remember a game from years ago where Zeke Marshall stole the ball, dribbled the length of the court and threw down an awesome two-handed dunk. Dambrot said in the post game presser - "That was the dumbest thing Zeke could have ever done...he showed me that he's got that in him." Sammy showed Groce that he's got "that" in him. Expectations are now a couple notches higher. To-date I'd only heard rumors of that Sammy from people watching practices. đ

I like the upper level seats for the view. My upper level reserved seats are $99 each (x2) and includes parking. That's essentially "free." I'll probably pay it until I die, or some future AD hires the next Ianello.

I can't imagine the buyout is millions? Probably $700k would do it. We could "buy" YSU for 250k as a replacement, and have a fun "local" home game with a good chance of a "W." I don't mind Kentucky fans coming up to Akron. They know how to tailgate, and it would make for a fun game day environment. Better than the typical morgue that InfoCision has been since its inception.

He needs to be open to score. BSU doesnât need to double team Freeman so our guards arenât getting the open looks they get against crappy MAC teams. fun game. Looking forward to the 2nd half!

If they didnât want to play any longer, or their team was eliminated from post season competition, sure.

Hope there are no Utah Valley scouts in the stands tonight. -

Following recruiting is just exhausting nowadays. Two signing days...constant turnover with the portal...players coming and going throughout the entire year... I miss the days when there was one signing day, no portal, and you'd get surprised by maybe two or three roster additions in summer camp. I have no frigging clue who 70% of the Zips starters will be when September rolls around. -
Akron is now TSDTR on the Kent U. Website Game time now 6pm. In addition, the game is specified to be played âinside the M.A.C. Centerâ? Was there some sort of Frozen Five outdoor event previously scheduled?

I remember a Hipsher-era game where the Zips rained some 3âs to cut a similar deficit down to single digits. Joe Dunn - âHey coach, howâd the Zips finally string together all those threes at the end of the game?â Hipsher - âJoeâŠitâs easy to shoot threeâs when youâre down 30.â

So this is how an EMU fan feels all the time? Blech.

Toledo is deeper, more talented and plays harder than the Zips. Theyâre definitely the class of the MAC this season.
-
Even the Toledo crowd is clowning the JAR fan base tonight. Great to see MAC fans that show up for a game aside from their rivalry game. Kudos to them.
-
This is pretty much his audition for POTY. Heâll need a Herculean 2nd half to stay in contention.
-
Toledo looks more talented and motivated than the Zips for the second straight game. Hope this comment doesnât age well, but I think it will.
-
Toledo is too quick for Sammy Hunter. They hustle too much for him to get wide open looks, and can go right around him when heâs on D. Id take my chances with Garvin tonight.

Thank God for Twitter. How did we all survive before cryptic tweets were invented?

Ali scored 11 points in the Bulldogs 6-point loss the Georgetown yesterday. The win snapped the Hoyas 22 game road losing streak. Butler obviously peaking at the right time. I hear CBI representatives were at Hinkle and were impressed the Bulldogs kept the deficit to single digits. Lunardi has Butler on the CBI bubble. Stay tunedâŠ
