  1. I’d love to see Tavari help Tavari.
  2. Aside from Freeman’s absolutely Hurculean performance, the Zips fielded a completely hapless offensive team tonight,. Hunter provides little if any offense, and has incredibly slow reactions on defense. He does foul consistently after he gets beat on the baseline though. I wouldn’t know Hankerson was in the game if it weren’t for his technical ft’s. Tribble, while playing dogged defense, doesn’t offer much beyond a few floaters on offense . Lyles’ contribution is random at best. Tavari can’t become a sophomore soon enough… So much playing time is available for any Zip that wants to step up. I guess my money is on Tavari to get fed up with playing tentatively and become a legit offensive threat. But right now he ain’t. Let’s get X back, and see who else besides he and Enrique wants do the work necessary to win a championship. And the refs sucked tonight…how weak of will can you be to get intimidated by the Ball State fans? At least they made the get home 45 minutes later than they should’ve.
  3. 9 career games at SC. Zero career tackles. Often injured. Hope for the best with him, I guess.
  4. I think it was 3-2 well into the 3rd quarter? Robinson wasn’t a complete bust, but if stars mattered, his 5-star rating was a solid 3-to-4 too high.
  5. Funny how some people clamor for MORE STARS! Then we get a kid with MORE STARS…and they panic that he’s too good, and incumbent players are going to transfer out! 😀
  6. Nate was a solid example of a Rutgers 5 Star that turned into an Akron 1-Star.
  7. How poorly written was Greg Beals contract that this could happen?
  8. Did George ask in the NIU post game presser?
  9. PAC-12...MAC-12
  10. Or Jelly Bean Bryant...Pork Chop Womack...Refrigerator Perry...Coy Bacon...Turkey Jones...Truck Robinson...The Juice Simpson...Honey Badger... If I was a decent P5 player I'd give myself a cool marketable nick name and watch the dollars roll in. Forget the old "school and team" garbage...monetizing yourself is what college athletics is all about.
  11. Carried on YouTube TV too.
  12. The resilient old man moves the Dukes to 13-4, taking down a 10-4 VCU team 79-70 tonight in Pittsburgh.
  13. Groce is the best coach in the conference. 13-5.
  14. Bryan Trimble Shooting under 30% from behind the arc at Missouri State.
  15. New Kent Coach Gets $5k if he beats the Zips
  16. Faust was going 1-10 before it was cool. 😎
  17. The Bulls seem motivated to beat Kyle Vantrease today? Hard to believe Buffalo needed the biggest gift since the Zips 14 karat stunner handed to CMU to become bowl eligible.
  18. He also stripped a Kent running back of the ball about 3 yards from the end zone in that game. The only other Zips game I witnessed where a single Zips player had such an impact on the outcome was Jason Taylor against Virginia Tech at the Rubber Bowl. That was an atrocious Zips squad, and JT’s dominance almost got us the “W.”
  19. Ah, the legendary 2010 recruiting class…
  20. Their hoops team couldn't beat Maine.
  21. Ball unfortunately had The Betty White Bone Density Syndrome. Lingard was injured early in his college career, but seems to be healthy towards the end. He just got stuck behind a couple great Florida backs. Hope he has a fairy tale ending at UA.
  22. Meh...he played 400 minutes as a true Freshman. That's more than a lot of Frosh. Played 13 minutes against UCLA. Enrique was his BFF. Playing in a program that likely would be in the MAC finals a few more times during his career. Good for him, but I'm baffled why he left. Maybe I'm just old...if you don't play enough as a Freshman, you transfer. If you play really well, you transfer. A player needs to fall within the "not-bad-enough-to-be-disenchanted-and-transfer-but-not-good-enough-to-be-attractive-in-the-portal" if he's to stick around.
  23. I'm still a bit baffled why he left Akron.
  24. The resilient old man's off to a 9-3 start? Hats off to him. Can he keep it up once conference play rolls around?
  25. That point of view hits home for me. The blame for the weak JAR crowds this season doesn't rest on UA Marketing's shoulders. This team has fallen flat to begin the season, and failed to build off last year's success. Too bad, because they finally had a schedule to do so. Last year we more than overcame the "losses" of Walton and Trimble (both were veterans, and expected to be starters). I expect some cream will rise to the top again and fill the Dawson/Bandaogo/Ali shoes. There is a ton of playing time available to any Zip who wants to consistently drain shots, and get a few floor burns on defense. Looking forward to seeing who steps up their game.
