  1. These are the circumstances I'd like to see student-athletes leaving...degree in hand with an eye on academic and career priorities. It's obvious football is a secondary interest.Best of luck to you Stephon!Kind of surprising EKU has a program that UA doesn't...I always thought UA was fairly comprehensive with the exception of medicine and pharmacy.
  2. Can't is great because you can read their message boards and get statements like:'Ike did failed out of school thats why he left Can't'which are not only grammatical and literary gems, but also reflect on the school's athletic AND academic programs so well.Thank you, KentDelt!RE: Can't State 2008-09 B-ballhttp://www.ncaabbs.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=474
  3. Fuller also had a INT go right through his hands and into the receiver's for a TD at OSU circa 2001. We lost the game 28-14 and that was a key play. Overall, he was a solid player though.
  4. There is enough hippie hay on their campus to get high on second-hand smoke.
  5. Other than a big UA win, I would like to see nothing more than a sea of our fans roll in to their stadium and make it look like OUR home game. A crowd chant to the same extent would top it all off!Any suggestions on something appropriate to chant if indeed this is the case?
  6. I think we need one for UA soccer as well. Is that possible?
  7. So long as Edelman is on the field, their offense will be formidable enough. Don't think they'll consistently stop our offense though.
  8. I was under the impression that Nike was contracted only for the basketball program(s) and that Adidas is the supplier for all other sports. Someone else please back me up or correct the statement.
  9. I think those are fair. I see us about even with CMU and UB. Temple is right there in the second tier as well. Toledo, Ohio, Can't, and EMU are must wins for a respectable season though.
  10. I thought we beat #25 Marshall in the Rubberbowl during Frye's tenure?
  11. Not when Can't loses to UL-Lafayette 44-27. I'm surprised no one has made a new topic regarding this. Can't is going to get pounded again next week by Ball State.
  12. I love reading stuff like this:UA leads the all-time series with the Vikings, 33-10-3.
  13. Temple won't happen. The Big East kicked them out, and there is too much bad blood there. It's like suggesting that the MAC would take Marshall back.Between Toledo, Buffalo, and Akron, there are a number of things that would be considered. Buffalo has the best academics by far and also the largest market, but poor facilities and a nonexistent fan base. If Turner Gill leaves (very likely after this season), they go back to being terrible in football. Toledo has history and tradition, decent facilities, and they are historically competitive with a decent athletic budget and fairly large fanbase, but they have some black marks from point-shaving scandals in both basketball and football. Akron easily has the best facilities (especially when we figure out how to replace the JAR), the Cleveland market is ripe for the picking, and we are the most competitive in everything but Football. The overall fanbase isn't much to speak of right now but it has the potential for explosive growth as demonstrated by the great showing at the MAC championship and Motor City Bowl in 2005.Essentially, it comes down to what the Big East is looking for: Market size and academic reputation (Buffalo), fan base and tradition (Toledo), or sheer potential (Akron).I disagree that UB is a much stronger academic institution than us. Although UB has a larger research volume, I still think UA is at a comparable level when it comes to academics. I also doubt that UB has larger market potential than all of NE Ohio, which includes Cleveland. In the end, I think we are the front-runner for the 4th slot with Toledo being a close second (much smaller market in NW Ohio than NE Ohio). Also, I think it's obvious that the University is targeting the Big East as evidence by all the series record references to the Big East found in the game previews for the various fall sports (men's soccer and volleyball especially).
  14. Remember how our D couldn't stop Syracuse?... At the end of the third quarter, Syracuse has 55 total yards of offense against PSU. Helps put things in perspective. No excuses, our D is terrible. I think it's more related to the 3-3-5 scheme than the personnel. Fault the coaches for that one. I don't think having a healthier D line will make much of a difference either.
  15. By the time stamp on the post, it's only 8:30 and already someone has had too much to drink...now that's tailgating done the right way!Right now, I think the Captain is more Morgan than Kangaroo. Here's to the last opening season game at the Rubber Bowl, great fans/alumni, and a Zips win over Testicle Tech...
  16. I agree, but those in the south and west would likely think that the College World Series is more visible and popular than the College Cup.To lose on the road to a quality opponent like UNM is nothing to be ashamed of especially in a hard fought, evenly played game. I can't think of a season where the National Champion has gone undefeated, so as long as the loss can be used constructively, there is no harm done with respect to the big picture. Missouri State and several upcoming opponents should be W's, so that will help the team rebound in the polls.
  17. Me too. I saw on the gametracker that we hit the post on a header in the first half.
  18. Kudos to them as the program is improving; however, I feel their OOC schedule is weaker than what will be encountered in the MAC.
  19. Front Page!http://soccernet.espn.go.com/section?DB_OE...mp;&cc=5901
  20. I don't know if the "OSWho" reference is one I started using a couple months ago and has caught on since or if I adopted it from somewhere else, but I like it!...to the point that I think it would be nice if the moderators made it a text change in the background as is the case with K-E-N-T being displayed as Can't or F-L-A-S-H-E-S being replaced with flushes. In all cases, and there is no doubt UA men's soccer will yet again be
  21. Those totally reak havoc on your tires. Might just have to take my wife's jeep instead of my car. sometimes they shit on your windshield too...Let's hope when the game is over, this only happens in the real world and is not a figurative reference to the game (the shitting on the windshield reference, not the dead bird).Contain Davis and a couple receivers and this is an even contest. Perhaps advantage to us because of home field. Either way, the key match-up is their offense versus our defense. I think our offense will put up at least 24 points...hope it's enough for another big W!
  22. Notre Dame is a very solid #5. They have already had a couple big wins and we whooped on them. Louisville beat UNM (who we play this weekend) in overtime last week. I think we are every bit as the #2 ranking indicates. HUGE game coming up at the end of the season at #10 OSWho both for recruiting and Ohio bragging rights.
  23. Because the state of Florida has very few men's soccer programs and FAU could make a big name for itself in this sport, which has growing media exposure.
  24. With a schedule this difficult, the only thing that matters is winning our games. Besides, I think IU will be strong and well respected going into the post-season. They always are.
  25. Thanks. Too bad we got scored on, but the W is the biggest thing.
