It looks to me like we're starting to figure out who this team is. Any team with high end talent will smack Akron around. Against most MAC scools we should be able to hang. Any team that can run the ball effectively will give Akron trouble. That makese mevnervous for the OU game. That being said every game left on the schedule is winnable. Need better play from Woody. He has to be more accurate with the ball. His missed td pass to Bickley (?) was the beginning of the end. For once I liked the offensive game plan. Still want more Sands despite the fumble. The one thing that really bums me out is that I really thought we'd have talent like Toledo by now when Bowden was hired. Now, I'm pretty sure he won't be able to get us to that level. A great qb (Kato maybe?) can fix all of this with a D that returns just about everyone next year.

Under thrown balls on designed go routes are rarely about timing. Perhaps if it was over thrown. I've seen Woody make that throw in the past but not since he's been injured. Perhaps he can build up his arm strength during the year but that remains to be seen. I'd rather have him sit for a game and heal/build up arm strength. I'm not completely sold on Kato but I think this should be the move for next week.

So you missed him under throw a wide open wr on a deep ball that would be 6? So you missed him yell at the refs, teammates, and coaches? Those are all facts. Personally I'd let him sit next week. Gives Kato some much needed game reps while hopefully growing his confidence. All while Woody recovers. To me it's a win-win.

PSU is really really good. I wasn't expecting to learn much about the Zips but man they looked bad. Kinda reminded me of the beat down Brookheart's Zips had at UVA. Some small things I learned.... Wr still is an issue. Play calling is still an issue although I liked the fake bootleg deep ball Woody underthrown. If Ball is healthy feed him. Woody doesn't look right. Kato needs to play for know. He has talent no doubt. I also hated Woody's childish behavior. He's a senior and needs to show a better example on the field. Didn't like not going for a score on the last drive.

I only was able to watch the end of the 2nd half. UTA had just got the score down to 6 with around 3min to go. Cal got a steal and Bilbo reached out and fouled the player resulting in a flagrant 1. Cal hits both foul shots and scores on the following possession to get the lead back to 10. Game. So a little closer that the final box score
