I was at the Browns stadium in Cleveland... I am not sure if it was heard over the TV or not but the crowds chanted " Charlie, charlie" more than once. Granted some people were mildly upset with him throwing the interception in the end but overall, everyone knows that he is the future of this franchise.Generally speaking, it is impressive to see how many rookies and sophomores are playmakers and already making impact on this team. Crennel/Savage know talent.

I have to respectfully disagree with you...1-kicking is horrible, i don't know how exactly was domonkos(sp?) recruited, but the thought that the athletic department spends some money on a scholarshio for him makes me . High school players, soccer players, and even some fans can do better than that.2-decent showing ? are you serious ? i don't know how they got the 16,000 figure but by in stadium estimate was 10 or no more than 12 thousands at most... for a deffending champion in his home opener, that sounds way far from decent to me.3- no body is whining about the weather.

The seats allocated for the student section SUCK!!!!that's horrible, i didn't sit overthere today and i will never do that anytime... Students usually get the best seats for them to be close and loud and energize the stadium. That section in the away corner is the worst place for some one to see tha game.

I am hoping that their team is not as good and decent as their fans. This is for the NT mean green. and this for Can't because and this is who we are and who we will be at the end of this season.

CMU/Kelly Accuses Akron of Holding in Loss???
Valpo Zip replied to K-Roo's topic in Akron Zips Football
Dude... what a nerve you have !Why don't you beat Can't state at home before threatening to beat us away... -
I can't wait either... This isdefinitely the year !Bardo is 6-10... That is one inch taller than Preston and he is wider... Even if he is not a pollished player (yet), his size should help depending on the opponents size.I hear a lot of great stuff about conyers, McNees and McKnight... I know a lot of great stuff about Dru, Ced, Dials and Rom eee oh...I expect a lot of improvement from Nate, Rybak and Bardo. And if Woods is back in the original shape, this winter will be hot in NE Ohio.I can't wait to attend every single game within 200 miles from akron.

I agree with Big zips fan, if we loose this one, you gotta kiss the fan support good bye for the season.

Allow me to join you in saying: "David Harvey... Wow ! "As for long, i am not sure if he was on the field because if he was, he went unnoticed. Jabari Arthur caugt some passes but dropped some easy ones too. I don't remember seeing Jermaine Lindsay drop any passes but he also didn't make any huge play (but fairly good overall). Therefore the only "wow" deserving receiver so far is harvey.About the TE, i think that Poindexter is getting some playing time away from KAZ... I think that both of them are great TEs and it is a hard decision to play one at the expense of the other... i think that JD prefers poindexter.DK, he is our best runner, best receiver and at some points he was our best passer... the man got it all. (another wow).

What ???!!!!! Dude you're way out of place... those 2 words have no place on this board.Go zips and no one else.
-
There is no guest... you're either a student or not.So come on... it is only a freakin $12 for a DIA football day.
-
It didn't seem like DK was seriously injured... and walker wasn't that bad. I really doubt burning any redshirt.

I know that game results are a huge parameter in deciding the coaches fates. However, I don't think that the coach should always be used as a scape goat. Even if we loose to Can't (god forbid), we gotta see the reason why we lost. JD has nothing to do with the loss yesterday... Nothing, he couldn't go down and kick instead of the kicker, he couldn't throw instead of Luke, and he couldn't prevent DK's injury.Regardless of the score and the opponent, JD did a great job. The right formation, game plan, substitutions, challenges etc... By the way, am i the only one who feels good about the score yesterday ?This is how i see it: "Luke probably played his worst carrer game, DK was injured, the kicking was horrible, we were on our 3rd straight away game and we still lost by no more than 3 points to a very good team."
-
I have to respectfully disagree with you here. The game plan was great, the final touch on execution is what was missing. The defense limited a very good team to 2 TDs and 1 FG, Luke gave them a 3rd easy TD. If it wasn't for that, we would have won.We kicked a horrible FG and an extra point, had we got them, we would have won.Luke overthrew wide open Tuzze in the end zone, had he got it, we would have won.JD and the game plan, put the team in the right place where they had all chances to grab the win, the players (mainly Luke) didn't.I agree that Harvey is the man ! he keeps impressing but i am not sure about Jabari, he drops way too many passes. We agree on everything else you said...
-
I think that Getsy is the one who takes time to get his game on... MCB, NCSU and today.Luke plays 3 bad quarters and gets on fire in the fourth... The OL had nothing to do with all the interceptions and the overthrown TD pass to Tuzze on 4th down.
-
Even with the loss, coach brookhart is the man !We got in the red zone 3 or four times without getting a point. We missed a very doable field goal... 3 interceptions and still came only 3 points short.

Anyone going to the soccer double header tomorrow?
Valpo Zip replied to bobbyake's topic in Other Sports
Sorry dude. That will be the first game i miss this season... I gotta see the browns. -
I bought it from the Mac access and i am watching online. Crappy video quality and horrible playing from Luke He had a 1st and goal on the 5 yard, 23 seconds left with the score being 7-0. Instead of tying the game, he threw an interception that got returned to a TD and the score is now 14-0... did i mention a bad FG kick from the 40yd line ?We can still win it but that needs a lot of effort and ass kicking from JD in the locker room.

It is 1:08 and no game is on yet and no one is picking the phone at the TWC office in Akron...
-
It is ok to schedule Away games as long as they are within 2-3 hours driving distance. It is just horrible when you know that the zips are playing and you cannot see them.
-
Yess ! best news i heard today.
-
that reminds me of the Can't State stark trick... which will probably be my best college day memory ever. Kudos to Matt Newhouse. The sad thing about the zips is that we have zips gear in all colors of the rainbow, i've seen blue, gold, white, yellow, black and even pink zips stuff which doesn't help a lot in making the RB look impressive. If you ask me for ideas, i love the way Ohio fans do the chantO... H... I... OO. H. I. OOHIOOHIOI know other teams do it too, but i tried with a group of 5-6 zips fan chanting:Z...I...P...S etc... And i think that it will sound great and get some people excited to chear.Just my 2 cents.

Dude, i do that every hour, what does that make me ? a zip freak ? -
I am not worried at all, remember who we played last 2 games ?I will start worrying if Luke gets sacked more than twice against CMU.
-
Go ABJ !
-
If we can play the whole game like we played the last drive against NCSU, we will win by 30... that's only if.
