    Cant State beat Oakland at home today 75-65 IIRC. We beat them 85-65 at Kent. Melissa is a breath of fresh air in the progeam. I definitely see the ladies buying in for her -- well she's been on the Akron bench for ten years, so these players know her! Remember, the last time an Akron assistant replaced the head coach, it was Dambrot taking Hipsher's place. BTW. She has a strong 2019 recruiting class, including two players from Cincinatti who originally verballed to Bowling Green -- the school that signed the HOT coach from Ashland. I guess they thought Akron was the new hot place to be!

    Lipscomb just defeated Washington in PKs, 5-4 (6). 0-0 regulation. Whoa! Also, UC-Irvine converts a 6-5 PK win in 7 rounds to beat Grand Canyon. 1-1 regulation. Anteaters play @Stanford Sunday.

    Indeed! Haven't seen Simon's name in so long, really glad to see his success. He was IIRC the first draft choice of Jacksonville in the American Football League and the league went belly-up before he played a game.

    The Ford fam is one of Ohio's most successful. Geno's son is a HS coach in Michigan, I think... Amazing, as I remember it seems a few years ago dad was Ohio Mr BB, playing for HIS dad at Cambridge HS. He also led his AAU team to the national championship.

    Jeff's a fine coach. I think he could have done a lot better than a middling America East program...but he's proven himself and should be able to join the big time shortly.

    Who was there? Hilltopper? Was Hester in the building? Riak impressing and surprising with that performance. He showed very little in two seasons IIRC at ECU. He can be the missing piece that makes this team a MAC contender.

    In 1998 I saw the Akron softball team compete in the preseason NIT Tournament at the National Softball Center in Sunnyvale, California. Akron was ranked #25 in the nation in the preseason and this was the season opener. Akron's team had two players who were among the NCAA career leaders in HRs at the time. One of those players hailed from the town of Paradise, California. I remember this fact, as I read of the nightmare Camp forest fire that has totally destroyed that town of 26,000 people. Does anyone remember the name of the former Zip? I believe she was a catcher.

    So what is the contract w/South Carolina? I have to presume Nebraska is going to take this as a clear reason to not pay Akron. Do we get that $1 million from Columbia?

    HT, do you have a source for the #KeepAlltheMoney story? I can't locate that info on the interwebs! If so, is this a 3-way deal with Nebraska -- the Huskers keep the $$ from our (not) game with them, and USC hosts Nebraska in the future? I just looked at S Carolina's sked -- they have 5 wins with games @Florida and @Clemson, BUT they play Chattanooga at home, so SHOULD be at least 6-6 = bowl eligible without the extra game...
