At any level of football that is excellent news. It is pretty simple. He isnt beating out Kyle Pohl. He isn't beating out Nick Hirschman. He isnt beating out Woodson. He wouldnt beat out Kincade. He had absolutely no chance of ever seeing the field here. I wish him luck, but you are right, we have a lot of talent filling in at the QB spot right now. That is a good problem to have.

Exactly. You dont go from an average D2 team, to competing for MAC titles in two years. I think Bowden has done a remarkable job of upgrading the talent and setting a path for taking the program to new heights in just one season and two off season. I cant imagine what this staff will be able to do once they start winning games. I pray the leadership of the university is smart enough to see this.

Football rivalries aplenty here. Glades Central CB Bernard Willingham burned Cardinal Newman WR Travis Rudolph in the 100 and 200 prelims. Saw this as a tweet on his 247 sports profile. Travis Rudolph is a 4 star 94 grade WR on there with offers from Florida, Auburn, Georgia, Miami (FL) and Oregon among others. He obviously has big time speed.

How often are we losing recruits with the current staff? YSU has sucked recently, so obviously, those recruits werent that good. Nothing good comes out of that game. If we win, it is because we should. Losing is a huge black eye. There is no reason to schedule that game.

They will be making an appearance soon and I am perfecting a few other items that are destined for UA tailgating greatness.

No desire to play YSU. We have no reason to do so. Not one good thing comes out of that game. Until they want to step up to the big leagues, forget them and let them take their once every few year beating from OSU.

James Madison finished in 4th or 5th place in their 1-AA conference last year. That game interests me about zilch. There is no chance they are a better team than ULL. I am very excited for the ULL game. That should be exciting football to watch.

I disagree. Those traits are typically not teachable. Those are pure athletic traits that you either have or you don't.

Why do you have Traylor-Bennett playing safety and where is Hirschman at QB? Frieson is probably more of an inside receiver backing up D'Orazio. I look for Traylor Bennett to push Dillard for that outside receiver job.

I dont think that he would go to a big school. I think he would stay right here. Jim Tressel's name means more to Ohio kids than it does anywhere else. He isn't stupid. If Bowden turned this program around and left for greener pastures he knows that he could step right in and recruit extremely good talent from day one.

Bowden seems to be pretty good at choosing which guys he would like to give second chances to. This guy must really be trouble.

He just announced that his final 3 are Kentucky, WVU and Ohio State, so he wont be coming here unless something drastically changes in the next 2 months.

I remember last years game being a little deceiving because we turned the ball over 2 or 3 times inside the 20. Who knows how momentum changes if we dont do that? Granted, they were still a lot better football team than we were last year. Bowden has brought in so many new players it is hard to know what to expect.

I agree. I just hope he learns some of the other players that Bowden is recruiting and does some on his own. I see this all the time at BCS schools. Sometimes, all it takes is that one key recruit that helps "recruit" a class.

I want to win games NOW. Bowden is doing what he HAS to do in order to try to win games and build a program. Terry has to build some depth, create some competition and win games NOW, which is the only thing that will help with recruiting. The only kids that want to go to a school because you guarantee them playing time typically aren't very good. I have seen those guys for the last decade. I want high school recruits to come to Akron because we have a good school, nice facilities, a great coaching staff and a football team that competes for conference titles and plays in bowl games. Bowden knows exactly what he is doing. Ianello absolutely destroyed this program. Terry is bringing it back from the Abyss. I am astounded at the speed in which he is bringing in upgraded players.
