Can't play interior defense more straight up than the Zips have all night. The refs are just calling contact, not the rules by the book. Not having a shooter is killing this team. Also, not nearly enough off-the-ball movement tonight.

The key matchup in this game is our inside presence vs OU's perimeter athleticism. We should dominate down low, and if Ali/Wynn/Tribble/Dawson can play stellar defense on the perimeter, we should win this game.

Excellent win. Canada was missing a few players, including Mballa, but they played a game more recently. Akron was missing Trimble AND had not played in weeks. Williams and Segu still played and brought more experience between the two of them than all of Akron combined. This was Groce's best coaching job since 2019-20.
