Coach JB from Last Chance U was on the Pat McAfee Show yesterday, and mentioned Akron by name as a program he could turn around. I'm not saying I want JB with his questionable past, but this program desperately needs someone like him from a competitive, out-of-the-box thinking sense. We make this whole football thing look a lot harder than it really is. Is it possible, in the age of weird contracts to fit any situation, to include a clause where, if a certain record isn't met, the remainder of the contract is voided upon firing?

Awful play call. Irons needed to do more, but he was put in a poor position by the coaches. Let's see what kind of coach Arth is.

Heck of a job by Embick to get this program back to where it belongs. Watched almost the entire match on my phone at the Indians game last night. Phenomenal match. The quick answer to their goal shows where this program is competitively.

Agreed. This is year 2.5 for Arth. Regardless of how bare the cupboards were when he took over, and regardless of how much the Rona season hurt the development of the program, there are simple things a DI coach should be able to do. 1) Recognize which player(s) put the team in the best position to win (cough DJ Irons cough). 2) Compete against similar-level DI programs (G5). Not starting DJ Irons and a blowout loss to Temple would put the final nail in the coffin for me with Arth.

Was the plan to allow Kato to take Auburn's 1st Team hits, allowing DJ Irons the opportunity to stay more protected against the 2nd teamers? 13-13 speaks for itself no matter what level of the SEC depth chart you're facing. If Kato starts next week, Arth should be fired on the spot.

Kato is so bad. To be a dual threat, you actually have to possess speed. Their DLine is faster than Kato. To boot, he doesn't even keep his eyes up field to see if a receiver gets loose. Did the check clear yet?

Legitimately just watched one of our OL (#11 maybe?) pull from the edge to block the inside, and didn't touch a single Auburn Tiger; they were all by him before he could blink. Spoiler Alert: Kato had to throw it away.

That's one helluva recruiting pitch Arth has. Punter Recruit: "Why should I go to Akron?" Arth: "You're going to get to showcase your talents - A LOT."

All-American Punter. Kato talks a lot for a guy who is in his 6th year of DI college football and still sucks. Him being a Captain doesn't bode well for the state of the program.

Bally has been an absolute nightmare as a Cleveland Indians fan. Their service is only available on old-school cable - Spectrum, AT&T, DirecTV - and has been absent from modern-day streaming services like YouTubeTV. The belief is that next year they will launch their own streaming service, I believe complete with betting options, so they didn't want a TV deal to hinder this. Regardless, Bally ranks up there with Kent State, Ohio State, the Steelers, Ravens, and Detroit Tigers - they absolutely, positively, 1000000% suck.
