  2. This is big for Zeke to let loose and play. I remember last year being in a panic every time he got a foul.
  3. lol I may have a fond memory or two on campus, but I would say that the first memories that come to my mind were off campus. LOL. I'll just leave it at that. Hell, I have memories of hopping bars on the zip strip from HS. It's one of the reasons I came to akron.
  4. "We're making some strides, but we need to have W's" Not for me Terry. Not this year. You've already made HUGE strides. Last year the Zips would have been down to Tennessee 35 points in the first quarter. You guys should play to win. Of course. Wins will be fun when they come. My bet is that those kids who were around last year or the previous two years are already having fun with the higher level of play before the final whistle has even been blown. The final scoreboard fun will come when it comes.
  5. Yeah okay, let's not give raises, and let all the good help and talented faculty seek out jobs elsewhere. That sounds like a good plan for the future of the institution. 3% is by no stretch a large raise considering cost of living increases.
  6. That just means we are hungry
  7. you are what you eat
  8. Can you leave uranus out of the discussion?
  9. winning cake > cupcake
  10. I agree. I sat down at field level and remarked that I didn't like it. I never thought I would complain about sitting in the front row, but even though I could see what was happening on the sideline great, out on the field you can't see through the crowd of players. When you are up a bit higher, you can actually see across the lines to the other side before they snap, and you don't lose the play when it's on the other side of the field. And Infocision is intimate enough that you aren't too distant from the action when you sit a bit higher up
  11. catch 22 What was missing was the crowd, and the festive atmosphere. But when you are there, and you are winning, you expect to have lots of fun. (I was there). But without the crowds, the experience doesn't quite have that infectious aspect. Winning will solve this. But winning on the level that will solve this will not happen immediately. What is worse, the full crowds tend to stagnate and also not happen immediately after winning does. This wil take time. But once the place is full, and electric, the tide will be turned. People will have to be turned away, and be upset they couldn't be apart of it. Not any time soon. First, the winning. If the guys we brought in to make it happen don't make it happen, no one will
  12. Guys, this is how the media works. They are on a rail because it's election season.
  13. might wanna make sure your malware protection is up to date before you try this site
  14. Yuengling is still riding that scarcity mystique. I personally believe it's way overrated and will eventually join the rolling rocks of the world
  15. much as I like would love to heap on Can't, it's absolutely amazing that they tackled him without waiting to see if he would turn!!!! The idiocy must be infectious! Was this at Dix stadium?
  16. 1-11 are we that bad? "we" WERE that bad. Nothing changes the state except change. Lets see what Bowdenball has to say about this question. For right now, it's still last year. Sorry. So until it becomes this year, yes, we were that bad.
  17. Since it's an academic/education institution, their "fair use" privileges are a lot more lenient than would be to an individual or business. However, if the use can be demonstrated to be more promotional than educational, and if the resemblance can be demonstrated as very close to duplication and infringing on trademark (legally, this is difficult because of how you define non subjective judgement), then UA might have a good case. Problem is, would you pursue it? Who wants to be seen as bullying some highschool?

  19. I'm the exact same way. I always said that fruit doesn't belong in beer and had been repulsed by those I had tried in the past. However, I also like Summer Shandy. Maybe some of them are just getting better at it? I don't know a lot about brewing, but my suspicion is that they ruin beers by putting the fruit in too early, but if they blend the right ingredients in last, the beer was made intact and it stands up. Just a theory.
  20. sarcasm can be hinted by the willing. This is the internet. Throw us a smiley.
  21. I've had it. The people I was with thought I was nuts buying something so expensive in a pink bottle. I wouldn't buy it again. The maple tastes artificial.... like that fake maple flavor in McGriddles. Yes I know it says "natural flavors" on the bottle. Oddly enough, I enjoy a mcgriddle with coffee occasionally, but the flavor doesn't work in beer IMHO
  22. ...and in life Football can be a very important thing to someone whose future may benefit greatly from it, but it can't be the only thing
  23. This could be considered an attempt at spin, or it could be just positing another potentiality to take into perspective; If a guy is circumstantially the victim of violent crime on more than one occasion, but was not himself the instigator or perpetrator such crimes, then doesn't his lack of violence provide a credit to his character?
  24. Yeah it's anecdotal. I'm not saying student interest isn't up, but you can't base it off of one co op. We have two engineering co ops where I work, one of which played HS football, and neither one has mentioned anything about zips football
  25. This is what I have been asking for for years. This is how I would approach marketing, particularly before the season. Create a looming but almost forbodingly powerful sense of anticipation. Does anyone remember the terrible radio spot several years back that had what sound like a gameshow chorus of children blurt out "fear the roo"? I cringed!
