  1. I feel better and better about our future, and we haven't played a game yet.
  2. What a great contrast this is when you compare Amato's message and and Ianello's and read between the lines. Ianello was talking about guys trying to get enthusiastic and be physical (these are football players here, remember, and this stuff should be a given, but he "likes it") while Amato is talking about high level performance psychology, and not being beat by adversity or prosperity during the progression of involved competative scenarios
  3. I wonder if fairlawn has any access roads nearby that they can close down and try to block this move.
  4. I watched it. I bet on Spain to win. Dominant Ball Possession. Death by a million passes. Sound familiar?
  5. I scored a 26 on the ACT and received 2 degrees from University of Akron. There is no way that Akron is a 13 ACT school, at least once you weed out the first year chaff and get to the serious students.
  6. LOL now that's some spin right there! From law and sociology all the way to anthropology and philosophy PS, using the board's filters/censors to change KÉnt to Cant is not nearly as annoying as changing Flåsh to Flush. The Fla$h word occurs a lot as a verb and adjective.

  8. This sorta reminds me of Kathryn Place, and it arouses some conflicts in my mind. Strictly speaking, police are not the bad guys. It's their job to keep order and preserve the safety. However, I have a problem with the people who order them to go in and treat people having fun like they are criminals. The really nasty stuff doesn't usually start happening until the crowd is antagonized.
  9. They keep taking down these videos. I wonder on what grounds. Certainly not intellectual property issues. Seems like information control and censorship. Anyone got any good theories on legit reasons to take these down?
  10. I have formed no opinion of Holmgren's tenure with the Browns yet. Regardless, he does have a respected history in the NFL, and speaking about football in Akron is not a bad thing at all.
  11. I read that wrong and I thought it read "TB even recruits from the marching band!!!" and I was just like "uh wut? nooooo. I better read this"
  12. If Akron can't show up and OSU fans do, then people not to stop complaining. Reality is reality. Deal with it. It's like whining about Justin Beiber or Reality TV.
  13. Don't just post about it... bring it up with the athletic department. Posted schedules in some location is NOT about starting at the top. What the top has done has impressed the hell out of me. They are putting their money where their mouth is. Now you do your part. Personally, I would have ripped that other shit down. I've done it before back when I was a student on campus.
  14. starts at the top? really? You can post all the schedules of sweaty buckeyes and circlejerk rockets in random locations all you want... but what starts at the top is spending money to get Bowden/Amato, and to keep a Dambrot and Porter. If posted schedules is your view of starting from the top, it's a lot different than mine.
  15. This just in, NCAA has vetoed the US Senate's justice appointments
  16. hopefull
  17. I couldn't speak last night because of how aggrevated I was. Not at the zips though. :X First off, I've seen a few digs taken at Dambrot in this thread. You will NOT catch me doing that. I will take 20+ win seasons until the end of time. The football program is a good example of how much worst things could be. Secondly, I want to say that those players are better human beings than I am. I felt like our guys were getting hung on, hand battered, and mugged going to the basket, both for shots and for rebounds, and those refs are neither blind or stupid so WTF???.... and I'll just leave it at that. Personally, I don't think I could continue to work through it with a positive attitude, so again I just want to compliment the guys (players and staff) for putting their heart talent on the basketball floor as Zips
  18. Were fukked... Did u see that refs face?
  19. We are getting absolutely mauled and mugged and they won't call jack
  20. Their court isn't playable
  21. That sounds suspisciously like employment. However, even if a few of them lied on the application that they paid someone to fill out, your description needs revision. Marlboros=zigzags and cheesey poofs.
  22. Article mentions a UA biologist.. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/09/science/...like-sheen.html
  23. who?
  24. I always cringe where I hear people use that choice of words. No one can be controlled. Coaches do not have the sort of oppressive power to control a player even if he wanted to. All he can do is hold the threat of punishment over them. In stead, isn't it important to intervene into the young man's social issues by creating a circle of positive support and offering helpful resources, counseling, and social (re)education? When you put someone under your thumb, they are just going to resent you and rebel against you at some point.
  25. I've been saying this for years and I'll never back down. The refs can establish a psychology in the game early on simply by making one or two calls on each side under the basket. One team gets confident while one gets timid and fearful of fouling out. The stupid officiating in the first quarter of the game fits my belief in this perfectly. They don't need to blow the whistle all game. They simply need to set the tone and the pieces fall into place
