  1. :x Refs have been a non factor of late. Even saw a few that could have gone against us. I'll shut up now
  2. Can I get a "don't blame the refs" thread up in here? I dunno how these kids keep their composure. It makes me sick with anger
  3. It's just not going to work that way! It doesn't have to be some conspiracy. The stations broadcast from the Cleveland area. The newspaper rolls off the lines there. The execs, broadcasters, writers, reporters, etc all live in Cleveland or it's greater suburban area. The sports teams have Cleveland on their Jerseys and everyone knows that people from outside the area identify this region with Cleveland as well. If you don't like it, start a news station. heh. But, a lot of people my age and younger don't watch the local evening news or read the local paper, so I think the media void is a dying issue anyway. So if you want to do your part, you don't have to start a TV station. Brush the chip of your shoulder about Cleveland and get involved more with the new media. It takes a lot less of an investment than getting a 10kW amplifier and an FCC license. WKYC and the PD are creeping slowly into irrelevancy. Why do you think the PD bought Cleveland.com two decades ago? They saw the proverbial writing on the wall. Unfortunately, they don't have enough vision not to treat new media like old journalism, but they are doing okay. Relax. Winners have Vision. Proenza is a winner. Stop the angst.
  4. I have never in my 15+ years of bulletin board service/threaded forum/social networking experience read a series of posts more dripping of delusional faction propaganda... ever After reading all that nerdish sycophantic drivel, I want nothing to do with stopping to nipping at CUSA toes likes that. MAC or BigEast please.
  5. Could we start beating the f'n spit out of MAC teams rather than vice versa first please??????
  6. You're point is preposterous. I've never heard anyone from Cleveland say that the sky was up either.
  7. LOL Anyway, If two NBA stars want to come to the JAR to check the zips (I don't see it happening, but yeah) then they're good on me.
  8. Sounds like an opera voice. It would have been better if it didn't feel so rushed for the first several stanzas.
  9. Tear it down? I got the impression that the idea was to bring the accelerated and scholarship students into one building. Would it not be there?
  10. It shall be your rooination
  11. Two most peopleful people in the same fish pond? What does human nature tell you is going to happen. Rivalry and mistrust.
  12. AK49ers
  13. Your mindset seems to be that Tressel is being given a job as some sort of charity gift to him.... as if he is not going provide value and benefit to earn his income. Are you suggesting that you could do what Tressel does, as well as he can do it? If so, I suggest you get yourself an interview and present your case
  14. nothing to lose (but 200k$) and high potential upside to bringing in Tressel? Joel Hammond at Crain's thinks there is indeed risk being under the NCAA's watchful eye. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/201...OGS04/120209949
  15. I voted for #1. I agree that #3 would seem to seem to identify more with the rustbelt mindset, but I'm not sure that a 21st century University wants to take that angle. Personally, I would have them speed up the graphics and intro (it's a tiny bit sluggish by my taste anyway) and make more time to hit with all of the examples in 30secs, instead of just picking two. Amigreedy?
  16. xmas ale to PBR? So it's "whoring for $$$" when you have an axe to grind, but fundraising otherwise? wow I wonder if his mere presence will have any recruiting benefit.
  17. Well he had consulting capacity for fb coach search, but that obviously ended. I can't see tW getting the axe right now. Maybe recruiting?
  18. Then I should apologise for my $$ comment
  19. Speaking of which, the event is probably moving to Vegas for the same reason that the Cavs went from Richfield (summit co) to Cleveland; $$$
  20. I'm not saying this to be selfish because I want Zeke around another year. I think he needs another year of maturity before trying to earn a place in the extremely competitive NBA.
  21. I posited that very same point soon after our new coach was hired. And while the roster is sure to be different (people leaving, transfers, new faces), 2012 season will not have Bowden's fingerprints on it much at all in terms of recruiting. So basically, it will be a great chance to contrast coaching and see just how much it changes things.
  22. I used to have a steam account way back when I played counterstrike.
