Another great video. We have a better marketing department than I was led to believe.. Good job. Ooooh, that video is indeed sweet. But, as far as "marketing" goes, who's going to see it unless they visit GoZips.com or search for it on youtube? Wonder if they're purchasing a few televised ads? We've got to place those videos in places where others, besides diehard Zips fans, will see them. I didn't find this video on youtube or gozips.com. It was on facebook and twitter. I found it through twitter which I retweeted to my 500+ followers. Ahhh. They're going facebook & twitter. Doesn't cost a dime & will probably reach more ppl in our target market than going with channels 3, 5 & 8 (old folks). But, yeah, I'm starting to show my age in not automatically thinking of facebook or twitter. Anymore, those outlets should be my first assumptions.

IIRC, we've always lost those early-season matchups. I'm still concerned about Valpo & Duquesne this weekend. I am new to internet communication lingo. What does IIRC mean?? I know Holmes looked really good during his first game as a Zip (Columbus State?). But maybe he's a bit over his head at this level?

Who outside of members of this message board thing he was the missing piece to the puzzle? I admit I thought he was going to have more of an impact than he did but I don't remember ever reading CP say anything of the sort. Well, okay, no one. But red herring. Go on...

That's interesting insight. Actually, I've detected a lot of resentment towards Akron from the Canton Repository as well.

We put so much absolutely deserved heat on iCoach and even some undeserved heat on KD. So, just for fun, I ask those of you with advanced soccer knowledge, put a little heat on Caleb Porter and how he hasn't effectively used Holmes. We had heard all along about how lethal a striker Holmes was and that he was the missing piece to this team's puzzle. What's happened? What's Caleb done wrong?! What does he have to change before the Northwestern game to get this team on a roll for the tourney?

Are we signing a center? If not, shouldn't we be going after one? It'd be nice to give a "5" a year to develop, learn the system & relax on the bench while Zeke's a senior. If not, we're going to have a monster hole @ 5 after Zeke graduates. (Not that we'd not have huge shoes to fill anyway.)

All of these are the painfully rare exceptions which prove the rule that Cleveland's media ignores Akron 99% of the time. When Akron gets between 3-5 minutes of coverage, from each major Cleveland television outlet -NBC, ABC, CBS & FOX- every night (regardless of merit, i.e., Browns, Indians, Cavs) for the next two generations (roughly 40 years) then we'll go ahead and call it even w/ the Cleveland media. Cleveland's media has had Akron by the balls for a looooong time now; literally a couple of generations. That's almost entirely devastating for the Akron community's personal identity, or "sense of place." And, IMO, I don't think the Cleveland media was dumb enough not to realize what they were doing; it was intentional. Fortunately, 6:00 local news broadcasts are for dinosaurs and are quickly becoming increasingly irrelevant to a community's identity formation.

This is exactly, and tragically, correct. And this is why an Akron fan with even so much as an elementary ability to connect dots hates all-things Cleveland. Burn, Cleveland. Burn.

I'm glad they didn't get much press. I actually dislike them just as much as Can't, and I'd like to think we have a better chance of gaining the northeast ohio fanbase. Aside from a good sized arena, there's nothing about them I can like. Although I feel like we will probably lose to them... Amen. Screw Cleveland State.

I agree. Ianello has taken this program backward. We're no longer even the least bit competitive.

Actually, I'm sure we're all glad this was written. Hopefully the ABJ can help put enough pressure on Dr. P that he won't be able to bury his head in the sand, concerning this football program, any longer. Marla Ridenour for the ABJ. I was watching on tv and the game definitely did not have a "rivalry" vibe about it.

Now nothing. I've refreshed it almost 100 times and nothing. What an unfulfilling day of UA athletics. Fortunately, I'm not surprised!

+1. I suppose in one sense it's strangely liberating. But that's probably just a defense mechanism. I miss caring. I want to care!

I've just lost the feed. It says, idk, something is unavailable, or something. Anyone else having the same issue? [edit] it reads: "[server. Reject]: Virtual host is not available."

What can you do? I don't know. I only brought one group to one game this year. Next year I'm not bringing any. I'm not going to renew my season tickets. That's about all I can do to make my displeasure known to the administration. I wasn't at the game today, but even when I am I don't "boo." I wouldn't ever want the players to misconstrue a "Boooo!" as being directed toward them when in reality it would be absolutely intended for the coaching staff. I watched this week's abomination on SportsTime Ohio while doing some chores around the house & reading a book. I hardly care about our football program anymore. It used to be a daily passion of mine - from recruiting, to spring ball, to the regular season. Now? Whatever.

I absolutely love college football, but I'm so demoralized over our program I hardly care anymore. I don't believe I've made a football-related post since the week before the Central Michigan game. I stayed home & watched the Can't game on t.v. We lost again. I don't think I even care. I haven't felt like this since I started religiously following the Zippers about 20 years ago.
