Non-Conference Future Schedules
ZippyforPresident replied to 94zipgrad's topic in Akron Zips Football
Post of the year. Or the past few, really. I, for one, visit the site to read about Akron sports. Period. I'm not interested in a case study on the Dunning-Kruger effect. If posters are so ductile as to be stupefied with how "welcoming" Liberty is, nothing's keeping you here. Have fun. As some dead guy once said, its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt. To (Please) get back on topic... If Liberty wants to pony up major bucks for us to show up and house them, cool. Our 2019 schedule is excellent. Roadtrip worthy game in Champaign in August? Beautiful. Out of conference games against Troy and UAB at home are awesome. Homecoming against Kent State? What could possibly be better? And to top it off, Buffalo and OU at home. Hopefully we're good in 2019. If so, it should be a really fun year. YSU @ Akron in 2020? That'll be a blast. Can't wait! -
There ya go, now that's the spirit!

Thank you. I was about to make the exact same comment after reading much of this thread Let cooler heads prevail. Sometimes kids get lost in the heat of the moment. In my experience, no side is completely innocent in this kind of situation. Kids got heated at practice. Life happens. The most important thing is that they have someone there to help them learn from their mistakes. That's how young people grow into adults (ideally, although not always) haha. There's a lot of basketball left to play. Hopefully Jimond's play becomes contagious and they can keep building some momentum into tournament play.

Game 17- Eastern Michigan
ZippyforPresident replied to clarkwgriswold's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
Well, if it weren't for the Marshall loss, we'd actually be undefeated at home. Is there any way we can play the rest of our games within the warm confines of the JAR? Haha. Gutsy win tonight, though. Hopefully they can shake their road woes in Oxford. -
Game 16- Northern Illinois Huskies

Yep. Sure he's terrified. Nope. Already been charged. Groce and the program are more concerned with trying to win basketball games. Thanks! Good riddens. -

How 'bout them Zips! Raise that dadgum Jolly Roger high above Infocision Stadium. Go Zips!

I find it difficult to believe that the contracting parties wouldn't have expressly provided for such a contingency.

President Matthew Wilson
ZippyforPresident replied to Blue & Gold's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
Haha. No worries, you seem like a genuinely good dude. We probably attended UA at roughly the same time. Wilson was the dean of the law school for a period when I was there. He seemed to me, extremely capable of his expanded presidential duties and was genuinely liked. I don't think I'm going too far by saying we were glad he was our law school dean for the period that he was there. I certainly wish him the very best in his westward endeavors. However, I would be remiss by not emphasizing that the board of trustees would be well advised to look in house again in their search for our university's next president, however, that's not to say they shouldn't turn every stone. This university and this community require and deserve a capable person who understands the unique challenges that Akron faces and who values and recognizes the collaborative potential of the city, the university, and the surrounding community above all else. After all, a rising tide lifts all boats. In fact, my future donations demand another community valuing, global reaching, progressive, education first president as opposed to some "Carpetbagging Texan hypocrite hatchet job." Keep Akron Educated (and weird)! -

Not to be a troll, but it's "milquetoast" for future reference. Otherwise, I agree with about 99% of your very logical posts. -
I don't care, I hope Buffalo wins. This is a fun game to watch and the more mid majors to move on the better.

Just awesome! Your photos really take the content of this site to the next level. Thanks Dr Z! -
The last time Akron football had a game this meaningful, I had no clue how special it was to witness Akron Blue and Gold at Ford Field. I'll be there on Tuesday, good weather or bad. It is time for the nation to stand together and unite. This Tuesday is everything. Do or Die!

UT Arlington section @ BYU chanting "we want Akron" at the end of their game. Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it. I desperately want to hang an NIT Champions banner from the rafters at the JAR. Stoked on our win, lets keep it going! We are every bit as good of a team as the other 15 left. We just have to want it more.

Miami @ Zips, 2/28/17- Senior Night
ZippyforPresident replied to clarkwgriswold's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
This is what Akron pride looks like? You should be disappointed kids. No reason for that. Ever. That was worthless. I love you with the entirety of my heart, but that effort was less than worthless. -
That's awful. I hope it returns soon. I always enjoyed reading The Buchtelite when I was in school.
