  1. There's only one reason. Tell that too Cam Newton. You guys don't know what you are talking about. There are a lot of good players playing JUCO for a lot of reasons. Not all are D1 talent, but a lot are. I beg to differ. I do know what I am talking about. I agree there are a lot of good players that play JUCO ball, but they all play JUCO ball for one reason. Before going to a JUCO, Cam Newton had a scholarship and played at Florida. Mike Johnson played at Arizona State before transfering to a JUCO and then later UofA. Yep. Both went the JUCO route for the same reason as every other JUCO player. It's OK to admit you overstated your original point...... Both didn't go because they couldn't get scholarships. They did have scholarships and were at those schools on scholarship and played on the football teams while on scholarship. Would you like to clarify your point? They ended up at a JUCO cause they screwed up, just like everyone else on the team.
  2. Well it depends upon your perspective. If you are an Orthodox Jew you may question his religious values as Eddie is a Reformed Jew, but just about all Reformed Jews would agree that he is Jewish. Hence the motivation for his claim that he will never play for BYU.

  5. I like having the ages of the female swimmers displayed in the results. Can we have them add phone numbers and measurements?
  6. There's only one reason.
  7. My favorite quote from the ABJ: "On defense, the Zips added four linemen, one linebacker and four backs. We needed the backs because three of our backs from last years' squad have left the program to become jockeys."
  8. Is a proof point like a price point?
  9. My "Going Way Out on a Limb Prediction of the Month" The only D1 playing field this guy will see is what he looks at from the stands.
  10. I don't think so. How about the goal keeper in any sport with a goal keeper? How about the center in football? If nobody snaps the ball, the quarterback is unneeded. And the list goes on and on and on.
  11. You know nothing about recruiting. You know nothing about talent evaluation. You know nothing about building a college football program from the ground up. Basically, you know nothing when it comes to this. The guy isn't known as a whiz recruiter for nothing. If he doesn't bring in talent that results in W's he will ultimately be judged by that. Until then, I couldn't care less whether people on here or rivals are wowed by our classes. Frankly, I dont care if you are unimpressed because that doesnt mean anything. Lets see what these kids have before we brand them losers. Freaking unbelievable. Ouch. You have been beat down In. If you knew everything like 01 you would realize that this recruiting class is the first sign of the BIG turnaround. What have we done with those highly rated classes? So now we have a not so highly rated class. That can only mean one thing - good times are just around the corner.
  12. I think it's time to crank up the "we should be in the Big East" thread again.
  13. I think it has something to do with the Bible and the whole B.C.-A.D. thing. I'm not certain, however, as I do not have the same Notre Dame experience as icoach.
  14. Good thing we saved a scholarship. I think a Bigger Ten caliber lineman may be available. He's probably a criminal justice major.
  15. Apparently was once an Iowa Hawkeye TE So does that leave him one year or two to play the Decoy position for the Zips? Edit: I also wonder if he hung out with Ryan while in Iowa City, and has any Bain stories he can share with the lads for inspiration.
  16. Based on the kickers BG, Western and Northern signed this year. You are likely to get your wish.
  17. Finally, a wide receiver with decent height.
  18. This should be a good game. For those of you planning on heading out to Omaha for the return game next year, be sure and stop by the Henry Doorley Zoo and check out all the white tigers.
  19. In fact our male vaulters did so well they recorded the 22nd and 61st highest vaults by a college vaulter this indoor season. The women, not so good. http://www.athletic.net/trackandfield/divi...=M&Event=16
  20. Finally, a decent sized linebacker.
  21. What comes around, goes around. There should be a rule: WE are the only ones allowed to pursue the weak-minded.
  22. We're probably desperate to fill our recruiting class. 4 spots to fill in only a few days. This is probably a sign we aren't pursuing any more JUCOs. I would bet you are completely wrong. Don't listen to him Zach. You are likely to outlive him (unless you are a lot older than I think and are just a really really really really dumb old guy). Once he's gone, you will always be right.
  23. One of my favorite MVC schools is Evansville. I think they were somewhere similar to us in RPI too after last week's games. Back in our D2 days the Purple Aces always gave us all we could handle (and frequently more). Given their performance so far this year, I think this would be a good game, and the return trip next year would give all you heathens a chance to visit the Bible belt. (No Zach, that isn't a clothing item made from a book)
  24. Quite a crowd they have there. Looks like there are dozens and dozens in attendance. edit: Was there a nuclear accident in the area. That is embarrassing.
  25. I don't understand how Oregon State and the U of Oregon can be 1. and 2. when Ohio State and Cincy are already 1. and 2.
