    This is huge. I was excited when Pitt got him. Looks like he's not staying on board as its probable Paul Chrysts nephew will be coming to Pitt. He's one of the top (I want to say the #1 but i am not sure) QBs in this class. Kincade isn't going to beat chryst out, but he sure can win a bunch of games for Akron. Go Zips!

    I hate to say it but after the last couple years, my biggest worry is someone getting in trouble in the offseason with the free time. Fingers crossed no one does anything dumb, and next season looks very promising.

    Dejan used to be a really good writer for the PPG when he was the Pirates beat. Went to the Trib and is just a sensationalist now. I'd take everything with a grain of salt. Obviously he isn't making up the fact that sports are being cut, but as far as the reasons, who knows.

    By multi purpose, do you mean still able to host hockey? I don't really care. The U will do their due diligence and figure out the best investment. In my opinion, I think an AHL or ECHL team could succeed here, but whatever gives our Zips a better place to play, and gets me off of wooden bleachers is okay in my book.

    Campus is downtown now. They're the same. Put the arena across from Canal Park. We'd have a great arena district pop up too I'd say.

    Ehh I don't know. On one hand, let's not kid ourselves, we watch for entertainment. The zips were more entertaining with Alex. On the other hand, I don't want him representing my alma mater. Not really gonna be excited either way.

    Paid off.. So they have less expenses (ie no mortgage/bonds) and need more revenue to stay open. Interesting theory.

    Correction: the students that sit down low want to stand. I think they'd also want to cram 'em in too, it's more fun.

    I think you read that wrong. I think they can get state money, just joking that positive cash flows from government money are somewhat of an oxymoron.

    II would agree if students wanted seats. Find a top program with chairs for their student sections, there aren't many. I think most students would be more than happy with bleachers along the sideline.

    It wasn't so much the numbers as much as posters just dismissing the idea because "it won't work." When you have a working example here in the Aeros, I'd say the onus of the argument would be to prove why it wouldn't work. Like I said, I couldn't care much less if it's basketball specific or not, I just found it funny reading that it's a bad investment without much reason why.

    Bleachers in the student section.. Makes it easier to cram more in.

    You can't make blanket statements like that. You could build a bigger basketball only arena for the price of a smaller multi purpose arena. At which point the rent is gravy, but our basketball experience is dampened with a smaller place.

    Anyway, I don't want to be confused with Jake, beating a dead horse. I don't really care if it has hockey, arena football or whatever.. I just want to see the Zips out of the JAR.
