I would image they have a standard and ethics policy just like others.

You started one with the same title in August.

Congratulations to Michael Buddenberg, he was named MAC Special Teams Player of the Week. The Zips' two-year long snapper recorded his first stat as he recovered a Louisiana fumble following a punt in the second quarter. The recovery gave the Zips the ball back to close out the first half and take away the Cajuns' opportunity to tie the game before halftime. Like I have stated in other threads, keep your eye on the offensive player of the week. Bowling Green's QB Matt Johnson continues to rewrite the school's record books as he went 43-for-59 for 402 yards passing and a touchdown on Saturday in a 35-28 road win at Purdue. Johnson, who has passed for more than 400 yards in four consecutive weeks, became the first player in Bowling Green's 96-year history to ever have four 400-yard passing games in a career. Get ready for this guy Zips! Rated 25th in the NFL draft now. ...and according to EA of the PD, he could get a sixth year next year!?! Small Akron tidbit included in the EA above linked piece. Here's a look at some other developments after Week 4. Discover, Akron (2-2): Sophomore quarterback Tommy Woodson proved he was the right man against Louisiana-Lafayette with his three-touchdown performance in the Zips second straight win of the season. The party line is Woodson had to lose some weight to play. He's now down to 228 from 258. Still, Woodson did not suddenly lose 30 pounds during the three-week Tra'Von Chapman fiasco.

Very good point. That would also help in defending a QB that is having great success with his legs. IMO TW13 has all the physical tools to light up a zone. The proper WR routes also need to be installed if you are facing a zone, if you continue to run the same routes and expect the same results, you are putting a QB in a position to turn the ball over. Keeping Hudley's carries closer to 20 like in Lafayette, instead of 10 (average of other three games) will also go a long way into moving the defense into winning situations for the QB.

In all fairness, vision is probably his weakest sense.

The Bobcats are favored to beat the Zips this week. Put it on the bulletin board coach! What to watch for: From the Hustle Belt Minnesota Wrap Up: Ohio completed game action with 345 yards of offense against a team that has gained attention for its defensive prowess this season. The Golden Gophers ended the game with 468 yards of offense. Ohio made plays with the ball from the get-go, picking up the first down on seven of its first 11 tries on third down, but was only 1-5 in that same category to end the game. OU quarterback finished 17/27 for 194 yards despite playing with an ankle injury. One has to wonder if Vick's injury will carry over to this Saturday, and if the Zips will pressure him accordingly.

If you truly believe that, does upsetting UL on the road make up for it? I would hope. If not, feel free to elaborate in the Pitt thread, or the Questioning Bowden thread. This thread should be for fans trying to enjoy last nights victory, our members deserve it. If they weren't running inside veers, then I don't think I'm educated on the subject enough to give you answer that will make you less bitter, but I tried.
-
Look up your favorite team that runs any sort of veer. The playbook is not built around it. There was a plan to play without it too...see last night. I tried to start a thread about it here, but failed.

What changed? Be specific. I said it last year, I'll say it again, we should have beat Pitt by 30 last year. That Pitt team was awful. Last nights Zips team would have done just that. Word is still out on the quality of this Cajun team to judge the level of upset this really was. Right now, I don't care, the Zips are on a two game win streak and playing some real football. Enjoy the ride. Unfair asesment IMO. To group all the receivers together in evaluation is short sighted. I think we have a few receivers that don't fight for the ball enough, but I think we have enough receivers on this team to take advantage of their targets when the ball is delivered accurately, and on time. That was the difference.

There are some photos at gozips.com of the team celebrating with the fans, and coach Milwee on the field! http://www.gozips.com/sports/fball/2015-16/photos/0011/index

Woodson will start. He played well...and still has room for improvement. He can still play better. Great victory, congratulations to the players and coaches. We expect great things from our D, but have only anticipated good things from our offense. Happy to see solid play from a vertical passing game in all parts of the field. Tonight, the passing game was a legitimate threat. Now we need to continue, and flourish. Nice job coach Milwee, good to have you down on the field.

I didn't make the trip. I'm sitting at home in front of my tv. I'm at the mercy of others. Sorry. Go Zips!

Good. Bring quality, play quality, beat quality.

BC just gets past NIU, BG upsets Purdue, OU up 7-0. If you have not watched Matt Johnson play this year, your missing out. He is impressive.

Matt Hammond of Hustle Belt gives game information and his players to watch: Akron QB Tommy Woodson... Akron WR Anthony Young...Akron needs playmakers to step up, and Young could be a surprising one. Louisiana RB Elijah McGuire: McGuire is one of the Cajuns' most experienced players and he's the leader of the dynamic rushing attack. His 248 yards and 5 touchdowns this season have been added to already impressive career totals, as he is only a junior. Louisiana QB Brooks Haack: If Akron can stuff the Louisiana rushing attack, the Cajuns will be forced to air it out. Haack has completed 64% of his passes this year, but his TD/INT ratio is 0/2. It's a short sample size, but it could be something to keep an eye on. I'll add one more. Defensive lineman Rodney Coe. Coe got his ankle tweaked in the Pitt game and didn't play in the Tigers game last week. I have not heard if he is playing or not today, but when Rodney is healthy, he is disruptive in the trenches. If he is not making a play, he commends enough attention to free up space for his teammates. RC9's presence against a successful Cajun rushing attack will help the Zips accomplish their defensive goal of getting Louisiana into punting situations.

GT of the ABJ has three keys to the game; stop the run, run the ball, and TW13. ESPN3 will show the game with Drew Fellios doing play-by-play and Forrest Conoly (analyst).

Who's excited about the out of conference schedule?

Everybody is talking offense when it comes to the Zips nowadays, George writes that the Zips seek their identity on road trip to Louisiana-Lafayette "Thomas Woodson, who undeniably showed some things against Savannah State with a 12-of-20, 207-yard effort, will start. The pressure will be firmly on the shoulders of Woodson, a sophomore, to continue to add to his resume. It won’t be easy." Cajuns rank ninth in the country, averaging 304 rushing yards per game.

Nice story on coach Milwee. It would be nice to hear AJ interviewed more to gain insight into our offensive game plans. I wish he were available at the press conference after the games. I've brought this up before, but I would love to have the snap counts for each game. This only seems to be available in the NFL, not the NCAA. If I had the snap counts I could make some kind of observations into the our game plans from game to game. Wednesday's Buchtelite Rajin Cajun Preview By Terry Rabbitts

If it makes you feel better, Zips fans did a nice job of chanting "Let's go Zips" during last years home team chant at Heinz field.

Hustle Belt Preview of the Game. --By Matt Hammond If the Zips are going to be successful on offense, our wide receivers will need to build on last week's performance. I agree with Matt's assessment below: The Akron receiving corps also showed improvements last week that need to carry over to this week if Akron is going to win. Jerome Lane converted to receiver from safety/linebacker just a couple of weeks before the season began, and it has been a good transition so far. His hands aren't great, but he has the size and athleticism to be a huge threat when running with the ball. He caught 3 passes for 99 yards last week, including a 50-yard touchdown pass from Tra Chapman, the first of both of their careers. Another receiver that has shown great athleticism is Anthony Young, a track star who transferred from Indiana. Young caught 2 passes last week for 81 total yards. The catch that leads me to pointing him out as a possible star-in-the-making was a 28-yarder diving up the field. The speed and athleticism of these two could make them into offensive playmakers for Akron-something Zips fans haven't seen in a long time. I love these images of the play Matt describes, found at GoZips.com:
