  1. I didn't realize Duquense played at Consol Energy Center. Been there a few times. Great venue. Great area. The Zips should jump on the opportunity to schedule there. Game is on CBS sports network (channel 221) if anyone is interested in watching. Duquesne is a fourteen point underdog.
  2. Former Zip Shawn Lemon about to sign NFL contract. Listed at six-feet-two and 250 pounds, Lemon almost certainly will line up as an outside linebacker rather than a defensive end. Lemon racked up 13 sacks and forced eight fumbles in 2014 for the Stampeders, the latter of which was a CFL record. Still only 26-years old, Lemon is still a young player with room to grow. Although Lemon bounced around the Arena League and the CFL, playing for a total of six teams in his short career, Mitchell reported as many as 14 teams were interested in Lemon's services, indicating his game tape was worth a shot. His strip-sacks remind me of another NFL MAC outside linebacker. @SLemonator
  3. Zips favored by 5. Through the KD years, if you ignore the matchup and just look at the spread, this is his wheelhouse game. Chips are atop most offensive categories except rebounding, they are near the bottom of all defensive categories. Pound the boards and win. You could say the Zips are committed as well, since they have attempted more threes than the Chips. The Chips are more efficient.
  4. 426 Exchange street. Across the street from the football stadium scoreboard. Same side as BW3s.

  6. Thank you. Page 20 of 61 for those interested.
  7. John Senter should be tweeting Braxton. I would use a different angle than girls though.
  8. Per your link, our cornerbacks coach must be working out since his duties have expanded.
  9. Would purple be okay?
  10. You are aware of how much, and how many former Browns coaches have gotten paid not to coach in Cleveland since the Browns have returned to the NFL right? Brady's payment is peanuts when compared to that.
  11. Part of the upgrade proposal is lining the bleachers with memory foam. They were going to do this at Wrigley field and Yankee stadium back in the 90's but didn't have the budget. I'm pretty sure it is included in the new update.
  12. Overall, average. The voice over should provide some excitement to match the video. That voice over guy would fit well with education videos or a corporate overview, not a sports team highlight video. At the very least, adjusting the frequency and threshold (reducing the bass) in post production would help slightly. I'm hoping this was some student work.
  13. Does anybody know the contract status of our AD? According to the USA Today, his contract expired last September, but I can't find anything on how long he was extended. I don't see anything indicated in his bio on gozips.com. With new buildings and an increased budget, finding and retaining the right leaders to oversee those resources has been a point of emphasis. Under Wistrcill’s watch, Akron has hired new head coaches for seven programs, including tabbing Terry Bowden to lead Football in December 2011. He has made additional head-coaching hires in Baseball, Football, Men’s Golf, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, Swimming and Diving, and Women’s Tennis. Just wondering.
  14. Your welcome. Take away what they do best. Basketball 101.
  15. Yes, yes I do. Do the students/alumni (or any Akron) get excited when we play Bluffton, Coppin State, Western Illinios, or Arkansas Pine Bluff? Replace one with Ohio State and increase interest in your program. I could care less if they played on the moon. The current group has a hard time marketing the above mentioned games, it's shooting fish in a barrel marketing an Ohio State game. We have guaranteed to pay Dambrot (at least) 4 million dollars for a job, enough with the above schedule, and "nobody will play us" excuses, find ways to play better teams. Time for a return on our two decade investment.
  16. I didn't see this until Keener brought this thread back up. You must have been drunk, I just visited this place last month, nothing to write home about. Like all of Key West, Sloppy Joe's is super touristy. Best thing I did in Key West was to tour the Hemingway home. Key West was not worth the four hour drive from South Beach IMO. When you are there you have to eat somewhere. I ate at Sloppy Joe's, I recommend stopping there for a drink, and eating somewhere else. Not bad, but nothing special. Your other suggestions have to be better. If anyone is visiting South Beach, let me know, I can recommend multiple good places to eat.
  17. Demand that we get the same amount we received from the Bluffton game plus 10 percent, but not going over 49 percent of total. Sign the deal.
  18. Nonexistent?
  19. Why would we not do this?
  20. Found them. Ten Cincinnati Bearcat Radio promo Ads. This is how you market if you want fans. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't (former interim Akron AD) Mike Waddell involved in these ads when he was in Cincinnati? We should be attacking the competition with a can of gas and a match, not daisies and candy. Come on YouTube Tom!!! More of this:
  21. I know I posted those Cincinnati radio ads somewhere, but I can't seem to find them. NIU did something similar (CK posted about it here). Zips marketing needs some BALLS like other MAC schools have demonstrated.
  22. He is playing the game by positioning himself for a raise in Cowtown. This lets Columbus know he has options and he is of value elsewhere. Edit: My thoughts do NOT include anything that the truck stop crook, and the clown in Miami would do. Both are ignorant enough to do anything unsound for a quick fix.
  23. Urban confirms.
