  1. That’s the attitude!!! What are you drinking?
  2. Dang this is like free agency, for everybody, every year…
  3. There’s no penalty for bent clubs, is there?
  4. Chris pitched through the 4th inning before being relieved. The numbers: 4 IP 3 H 3 ER 2 K 3 BB 6.75 ERA The Padres are up 3-0 so Chris can take the L and cannot W Career postseason 3 games (2 with Oakland and 1 with the Mets) 15 IP 18 H 7 ER 11 K 4 BB 4.20 ERA and a 1-0 record going into tonight
  5. Play ball
  6. A good article about our favorite Met
  7. Chris finished the season at 15-9 with a 3.42 ERA and a career high 167 K's against 49 BB's. The Mets playoffs begin tonight against the Padres. https://www.mlb.com/video/chris-bassitt-on-a-game-3-start JT finished the season at 3-12 for the Pirates with a 4.69 ERA in 28 starts. In his career he is 9-28 4.99. He returned from the DL to go 2.2 IP giving up 3R and 4H against StL
  8. A local radio station mentioned first floor retail space, but this article does not mention it. I had doubts about the rumor, looking at the current decline of retail, and the demise of the nearby Quaker Square mall. Plus the Orangerie "Mall" downtown that I can't find any evidence that it still exists. If I were a betting man, I would say the whole building is going to be part of this. I minored in Emergency Management and those classes were in Polsky. I also did research on the Erie Lackawanna Railroad whose archives were in the Polsky building at the time. That was in 2012'ish, before the enrollment tanked. It was sad seeing it seemingly empty the last couple years.

  10. Chris is scheduled to pitch Sunday for the Mets. 7:37 start time if the game is needed. The game would be on ESPN. One source had him pitching tonight, but that was not accurate.
  11. Boy we’re off to a flying start. oK, I’m out before I start cussing…
  12. Remember for a moment the reason for playing the FBS powerhouses. To bankroll a big part of the athletics department. This year we’re playing TWO top 25 teams, for what other reason than to keep the other programs competitive in Division 1. I would be crazy happy if the Zips could be competitive in the MAC, maybe sniff a MAC Championship and play in a bowl game. Football is my favorite sport by far. To me it’s either the athletics department is using payday games (at least 2 this year) to keep soccer and basketball and others competitive, or they were completely inept in hiring football staff before this one (the jury is still out).
  13. I was looking for something else and came across this shot. Reminded me of this thread. IIRC that's Pinky Tuscadero, a female musician the Fonz was chasing. How I remember that and I can't remember where my dang keys are...
  14. I heard a rumor the bottom level was going to be leased out to retail.
  15. IMO that name makes a splash with a generation who can’t (won’t) sit in freezing rain on a Wednesday night. She was popular in the late 70’s early 80’s, 40some years ago. Had one hit in the 90’s. Not a bad idea, would work with a different sport. National anthem singer/meet and greet before a basketball game?
  16. They're not an indication of the quality of the teams, they're set to get an equal number of gamblers to bet on each team.
  17. Akron in a squeaker. which is enough for me, after four years of suck.
  18. Ahhhhhhh. The various graphs only show his salary for this year. this one shows he’s eligible for arbitration in 23, 24, and 25. I stand corrected. Oops forgot the link... https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/pittsburgh-pirates/jt-brubaker-28185/
  19. Deandre is in the starting lineup tonight as the USMNT plays Saudi Arabia. it’s on live now, on FS1 and will be replayed at least once late tonight.
  20. I like your thinking
  21. J.T. Brubaker was placed on the 15 day DL retro to 9/16. He's eligible to return October 2 (using my math) with four games left in the season. With him being a UFA I can see Pitt rolling him out for an appearance or two before deciding on resigning him. Chris Bassett is 15-8 3.27 with 29 starts and 165 K's. His last game was ironically at Oakland. If my math is right he should go against the Braves on the 30th and possibly vs. Washington, the Met's last game. The Mets are the two seed at the moment 9 1/2 games behind LA.
  22. ^well, we're above the Browns.
  23. I'm out of Likes, but I agree. This is a much better coached team this year. There is better talent than we had before, but in football you're looking at 30+ key players and it will take some time to build that roster up. It's easy to get frustrated, but this team went 3-27 under Arth and Rodriguez. We won 10% which is slightly over one game per season. There's the old saying Rome wasn't built in a day, a mid-major college football team certainly falls under that rule. Let's get ready for some MACtion. Or whatever the buzz phrase is this year.
  24. Gotta be the coldest spot in Akron.
  25. That was painful to watch. Should have been in it all night against this team. I guess there is some progress. Last year's nightmare left us with no hope.
