Looks like he had a pretty nice offer list coming out of high school. Grade probably an issue then?

Kellom is in the portal to pick up and post offers from D2 schools.. edit: I take it back! Mercyhurst apparently moved up to FCS last year.

I’m not a title 9 expert, but cutting women’s Lax and Men’s baseball and cc should be back on the table as that’s was was most recently added. Honestly, everything besides men’s basketball and football should be on table. Yes even soccer. I don’t like it, but if this is where college athletics is going and we are hamstrung as a University, we need to adapt. Those two sports are your gateway to the university, with ability to profit at the individual sport level AND numerous examples of enrollment increasing when either of those two teams have success on a national level. I am shocked at the lack of institutional support our football program receives. Unsure if it’s a new development or just recently brought to light, but it’s no wonder we are what we’ve been. The issue is much bigger than the staff and players. If the football team has to whore themselves out to support athletics, sacrificing any chance of a successful season, they need to get a disproportionate cut of the revenue from the buy games.

It’s time to cut some more sports then.

Yeah, honestly NIU/directional Michigans/Ball St do nothing for me in the MAC. Them beating Notre Dame this year was pretty sweet, but the rest of the season was a let down.

Kaulig, Wentz, James LaRose (if he's still involved with University) all come to mind as candidates to get football NIL off the ground.
-
Damn. Not him too!
-
And it’ll be like that unless someone steps up with some semblance of NIL so that we can keep more of the players we want to keep. This isn’t on Moorhead, it’s the state of college football and it sucks for the have nots.

His next school would be his 4th school if he’s in the portal. Think it might be time for him to transfer down from P4.

Charles Huff leaving Marshall for Sourhern Miss is baffling to me. Anyone know what went down there internally?
-
I don’t disagree with general premise of this, but coaches (at least head coaches) are penalized for this in the form of contract buyouts. Yes I know it’s customary for hiring school to pay them, but still a technical hurdle. No sort of detriment to the student athlete comes to mind offhand.

Dueces.

Worth noting that Charlotte now has the AAC money, which is probably best among the G5. A better example might be Nick Toth (Moorheads’s original DC hire) leaving us to take a positional coaching job at Air Force before he even started.

2024 Ohio High School Championships

74-0 in a state championship game is absolutely insane. -
We should get Myles Walker back as well (who earned the #1 jersey in summer workouts this year). And then there's the potential of Alex Adams, but can't count on him being available based on the past 2 years..
-
That sucks. One thing I'll offer though is that we beat Toledo without him recording a single catch.

Go for bad basketball, leave with a DUI.

It happened with Ali Ali here and Peyton Sparks at Ball St off the top of my head. OU had a bball player come back from Xavier as well a few years ago. Only going to become and more common.
-
On phone, so can't post graphics, but we ended up with: CJ Nunnally and Avery Book 1st team all MAC. AD Norton and Bryan McCoy 2nd team all MAC. Paul Lewis III 3rd team all MAC. Snubbed - Garrison Smith

I think we are in general agreement on the OL. Tackle is a large concern, but I am comfortable our interior OL rotation Morris/Williams/Davis/Seymore/Lyons/Mitchell. Might be an upgrade to find there, but it is not a weakness like tackle is IMO.
-
I'm sure there will be more transfer portal (TP) movement, but as things currently stand: Brought in 4 OL, 3 of which were true freshman. I think they'll plan to try King at OT, but I'd like at least one more. Didn't see much to be excited about from our back up tackles. I'm content with our interior OL. I'm good with the WR corps. I'm good with the QB room. I think we need another RB. Probably TP route, but could live with high schooler as both Williams and Patrick have potential behind Simmons. I think you still have to bring in like 4 more TP DL players. 2 DT and 2 DE. Dall is the only one currently on the team I'm comfortable with relying on a lot next year. Good with LBs Good with CBs/Nickels I'd add a TP safety. Like David and Anderson, but want somebody to compete with them a little bit. Backups are unproven. Scholarship chart based on what we currently know shows 9 non-special teams schollies available with maybe 7 real needs per the above? Also have the opportunity to maybe suggest some players who aren't working out to move on and create more opportunities to add valuable players. Zips Football Scholarship Chart.xlsx

We do this every year. He may leave, but hope not. Hasn’t yet. -
Don’t think I’ve seen Scott in tonight.
