We eliminated men’s cc and baseball and then brought them back. Not to mention the addition of women’s lacrosse. Hate to say it, but incredibly dumb for a school to do who is still facing financial difficulty. The band aid was already ripped off. Why put ourselves in this position again?

That’s a good question. One I don’t know the answer to. A lot easier to judge coaches IMO.

I was thinking him as well (assuming Guthrie wasn’t forced out/Nemer generally happy with Gurhrie’s tenure). From Akron if I recall as well, so may not be the first to bolt at another opportunity and allows us to have some continuity.

I have concern a new AD would try and fire Moorhead and we’ll be starting over yet again, continuing the death spiral of suck. Just want to watch some winning Zips football in my life.

Zips basketball account is tweeting the game is on ESPN+. Meanwhile, nothing is on there and the Akron app says no tv stream. Somehow Kent St vs Miami OH - Hamilton is though.

Is the football team receiving any direct financial benefit from these excess guaranteed loss games or are they simply to help cover the cost of athletics as whole?

I'm not thinking he'll leave after this year, but he should be frustrated. I caught that comment too...no training table?! WTF. That feels like that should be a very basic necessity of any college program regardless of level. Comment on payday games is true too. If the football team is forced to sell its soul to help make budgets balance, they should be reaping some of the benefit. Unfortunately, it is not easy to win at Akron.

I'm in agreement with you. Sure some other teams in the conference may be marginally more talented than us - not unexpected, but our biggest issue is what I'd consider culture related. Attention to detail, using your head, accountability. Joe Mo seemed to have similar issues at Miss St. Its on the coaching staff to change this, but isn't easy when most of these players have not had success in their college careers nd don't know what it takes to be winners. As Mike Tomlin says, the standard is the standard. The Steelers have lacked talent on the offensive side of the ball for a handful of years, but they find ways to win because they play smart and accountable football.

Sure looks like a bad goaltending call to me.

This team is going to need to develop some sort of post game.
