The RPO makes it difficult for lineman to get downfield, because well, you never know if the play is truly going to end up being a run or pass, as the QB has the option to hand it off or pass..hence "Run-Pass Option (RPO)". If he passes and the lineman get to the 2nd level and block the LBs, that is illegal man downfield. Am I missing something with the other responses? Strategy seems pretty clear cut to me. Outside of Akron games, it does get called, though seems refs miss it plenty as well.

These CBs really need to learn to tackle between now and next season. I feel bad for Alvin...playing his ass off and not getting any help.

Rosser was the lowest rated commit in the class per 247, but I prefer to have him of course. Not a good look for Coach Zagorski, IMO. Rosser's only other offer was to Rutgers (with the old staff) and Benedictine is Zagorski's alma mater. Decommitments do happen though, even with the top programs.

I am not sure I agree with calling it 'dumb'. I saw nothing intentional about it. Looked like a box out that may have been a little aggressive and the guy fell down. It was all body.

Pretty pleased with the showing tonight. Many ticky tacky calls seemed to go WVU's way (as you'd expect). Would like to see the PG take a little better care of the ball, but that was cleaned up a bit in the 2nd half. We could've rolled over and let them steamroll us after the end of the first half, but the 2nd half was pretty respectable, especially considering some key calls that benefited the home team. We ended up beating them in the 2nd half. I don't see anything that makes me worry about conference play. Xeryius has filled that scoring hole left by Utomi's departure. (Utomi had a whopping 3 points in his debut for USC, FWIW). Reece is going to help tremendously on the inside this year. FT shooting was good. The freshman look like the know their role, it will be fun to watch them grow throughout the season. Go Zips!

Camron Reece is such a welcomed addition to this team. I agree with someone else..reminds me of Tree. WVU is shooting pretty good, hitting contested shots. Need to hit our shots and cut down on the turnovers.

Xeryius and LCJ need to play better. Pretty pleased with everyone else.

You are correct. Maybe him starting was just a rumor and it stuck with me? Harney most definitely played PG though after the drug trafficker ruined our season.

Don't we all.....though when I think of that year I also think of us owning OU in the MAC-C with Harney starting at PG. That makes me feel a little better.

Incorrect. Bowden went 1-11 his first season. There was zero chance to become bowl eligible after the 7th game. Bowden started off his second season 2-7, before winning the last 3. We were eliminated at this point then as well.

I was watching the SMU/Memphis game the other night and the announcers mentioned that SMU had 30 something transfers on their roster. Something Bowden did do well early on in his tenure is supplement the roster with transfers. I don't know how fair of a shot Arth had last year, but I really think he needs to make a conscious effort to get players in here that can play right away, and be plus players. OL, DL, DB, RB, and QB could all use some immediate help unless we get lucky and some of these young players really take a jump next season.
