So if my memory serves me correct, we had 3 scholly players leave this year. One went JUCO, one went low major, and one went DII. I liked these guys, but it seems like them moving on was the right move for all parties involved.
-
Good stuff guys. Thanks for the write ups. Doesn't seem like Morris is doing much huh? Maybe pretty realistic though as he hasn't played WR in 2 years.
-
According to an article I saw in the paper (I don't have a link), Tim Scippio did make it on campus and Brady played in the scrimmage today. Looking forward to hearing your summary @CDMac as well as anyone else's who may have went.

Alvin Davis named the 25th best player in the MAC by Hustlebelt. Have to imagine Brown, Gilbert, and possibly Davis will be on there. https://www.hustlebelt.com/2018/8/4/17646400/kyron-brown-db-akron-zips-football-top-players-2018-mid-american-conference

Interesting little read. We seem to have been much more conservative during our better years (looking at the last 4 as a sample size). http://footballscoop.com/news/interactive-chart-shows-often-favorite-coach-goes-fourth/

3 QBs splitting first team reps, none of which have D1 college experience, against our veteran D is a great thing for our odds of pulling an upset.

Hey now, the LTT story ended with him transferring to a G5 team that went 0-12. I think those days are behind us for good I like Reinke's story (local guy, hard worker, good character, former walk on), but he is pretty much just a guy. I see no reason Brady can't come in and beat him out. At the very worst he is a depth piece, which is also needed. Brady was a freshman all-american at Mizzou, and put up the same sack numbers that year as future first round pick Charles Harris. From my reading, MTSU switched to a 3-4 after he got there, away from the 4-3 he played at Mizzou. He also had some injury issues last year. I hope and think he brings a good attitude and can stay healthy. Its literally his last opportunity to impress scouts and get a shot at the league. Him and Davis could be terrors on the ends this year in the conference. TB has a good track record of taking on these types.

well speak of the devil lol.

All yours buddy. Your breakdown is more informative than mine, so I'll let you own that. I'll just keep you in line

Thanks. Updated and attached for everyone's viewing pleasure Good to know. There are apparently 5 players I/we don't know about who have scholarships then. Zips Football Scholarship Chart.xlsx

I know I'm a little late on this, but there are 2 different rosters out there right now (go figure). This one and this one. Neither include Morris, but I've added him since we know he's on the team and eligible. There are some discrepancies (Devin Jordan is included on the second one but not the first one), but I updated the scholly chart the best I can. In addition to Sibley, it looks like the only other freshman who didn't make it is Ben Phillis. Assumed 1 specialist in each group got one, who they are isn't really important I don't think, but I did see on twitter that Cam Lyons did end up getting one, who also happens to be the son of the WVU AD. No exciting transfer we don't know about like years past. And I show 5 open scholarships..... Zips Football Scholarship Chart.xlsx

Deltran should be our leading rusher, but he has durability concerns. I think it will be RBBC with Sands, Edwards, White, Alce, and Kato all contributing some, with none over 1k yards. Possibly a good thing one Alce/White, the NCAA implemented a new rule this year that allows freshman to play in up to 4 games and still have the ability to redshirt. Staggering them would be preferable from a fan perspective.
-
Also FAU per his twitter. Dude looks like a baller.
-
He really stuck out to me during the spring game. I bet he turns into a nice player.
-
I learned a few things from a GT article for once. 1) Thus far, this is the winningest senior class in school history at the FBS level. 2) Darryl Long is out for the season. We already knew about Travonte.
-
To be honest, I think we'll just complain about the schedule no matter what. There are 2 sweet 16 teams on there from last year. and some other good teams in the Cayman classic. Marshall won a game in the NCAA IIRC. I don't like the creampuffs, but they seem to be strategically scheduled before bigger games..which I guess makes sense. Expecting to see some "perfect" OOC schedule just might be too picky.

You beat me to it B&G https://247sports.com/player/chris-mcdonald-jr-46036879 I've said it before, but Otis Mounds has been a great hire. The pass defense hasn't really been a concern since he's been here and he brings in some real talent every year. Seems TB has recognized it too with the promotion to passing game coordinator and recruiting coordinator. We need to do all we can do to keep ahold of him, because I bet some bigger programs will come calling before too long.
-
I'm sure this will start a debate, but pretty meh if you ask me with Cedarville, Chicago St, Alabama St, and Carnegie Mellon. Looking forward to Nevada, the Caymans (which will likely make it better), and Marshall @ home. Seems to be some high quality teams then some low quality teams without really anything in the middle. https://spark.adobe.com/page/BDRKox0VBTUSe/

The #MACtion brand is gimmicky as is. I say embrace it. This isn't the B1G with strong tradition. I'm all for anything that people will talk about and for the players to have some more fun.
-
The offense is a complete unknown, but I feel like its really hard to be as ineffective as last year. There is at least some potential with the skill players this year, assuming we can put together 5 decent starters on the OL.
-
I am pretty sure I was standing in line next to Bubba's parents while waiting to get into the spring game. He clearly gets it from his father...dude is jacked.

Can you watch everything with the $5 purchase (incl. live ESPN, ESPN2, etc)? If thats the case, I agree its not a bad deal at all for all the sports you could care to watch. Still redundant for me however as I have somebody's login that I use.
